Learning the English Wheel-OP/HS

This book is well written and gets you off to a really good start if you're learning the English Wheel. A second book with more in depth information would be fun but I think you just have to get in the shop and learn it on your own. Thanks, Bill!

This is a very good book dedicated to the English wheel, which usually gets a small section in most metal shaping books. While I have seen some of the material before in other books or videos, there is definitely a new twist on it here and it's the first time I've seen all this information gathered in one place. This is very well illustrated with color photos that clearly illustrate what the author is talking about in the text. I really liked that there were several chapters that followed expert metalworkers step-by-step as they worked on part of a larger project. This shows how one might apply some of the basic techniques shown in the book to an actual project. I am patiently waiting for Amazon to get Mr. Longyard's next book in stock.

Mr. Longyard did well with this book, starting with the most basics and working you toward visual lessons by some that are masters in the field. I particularly liked the starting lesson, put a curve in a piece of metal and then make it flat again...

I bought this book for a friend of mine who's rebuilding my Harley using the English Wheel for some custom parts and he was very pleased and enthousiast about the book. He read the whole book in one night to absorb as much knowledge from it as possible and it brought him valuable information learning this great technique.

Got this for my husband, he is building a hotrod and needs to bend and shape fenders. This has been a help.

Really well written Exactly what I wanted as a mid level learner looking to buy a tool for our specific work (Restoring old aircraft with almost all work being on soft aluminum). No punches pulled. No 'favorites' that weren't explained clearly.

This is the definitive guide for using an English wheel. It lays a solid foundation for practical techniques of how to use an English wheel by showing many examples, and easy to understand language. This book is a must for anyone that has an E-wheel.

Excellent introductory book. Would have liked a little more technical info though, e.g. how much rise can you expect for a given metal thickness.
