Once the wood is stabilized it will be resistant to water not water proof. it can be washed in the sink but not the dishwasher. The main purpose of the stabilizer is to harden the wood and prevent expansion and contraction caused by wetting and drying.

Q: Once the two parts are mixed, how long can it be stored and is still usable?

Not confident but I believe shelf life is over a year however, once mixed you have only a few months. Check with the manufacturer.

Q: I know it says for wood but can it be used like epoxy in molds with decent results?

I don’t know the answer- I used it to stabilize stone. I called the company to ask about it how I intended to use it and the man was very helpful! You might try calling them.
