RFID For Dummies [Patrick J. Sweeney II] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. RFID For Dummies Review: For a Supply Chain or Operations/Logistics Manager it is Perfect - This book finely details out the necessary understanding for management level of a warehouse/production plant/distribution center so that they can make decisions on what kind of RFID deployment they may need to undertake. Important elements such as cost, structure and scope are addressed. Also, a few insider tips on how other current best practices use RFID to increase inventory visibility and accuracy. The book doesn't go in to deep detail on the physics side of RFID technology, so an engineer, scientist or techy perhaps will not find what they are looking for, here. However, it does help project managers in warehouse construction help plan layout for RFID technology to be used. A great feature I found was that the book stressed the importance of testing the technology inside your warehouse or DC before investing in the whole project. RFID sometimes has interference issues and although most problems can be worked out, some require layout changes so that the 'reads' can be more effective. This book carefully describes how to get up and running with a test to plan where to put your instruments. Review: I was barking up the wrong tree. - The Seller was correct. The shipping was great. This was so not the tech I was needing to absorb.

Slightly Out of Date
Should have checked the publication date. While the book is well written, it is older and partially outdated. That being said, the basics are all there and I am learning from the text. As with most books in the "For Dummies" series, the information is clearly presented and reviews

Useless
Expensive technology with high barrier to market entry. Everything you need in this book could be summarized in one page. Save your money and let UPS worry about the RFID.

good for dummies as an introduction. not much theory detail but excellent for implementation for warehouse and inventory control problem solving.

A really good and complete book to understand the real complexity of an RFID system behind a simple concept, I really recommend eventhough this book is quite old now the basics and methodology described is still valid !

Livre en parfait état. Les explications datent un peu . mais les principes sont bien expliqués. C'est assez complet pour comprendre qu'on ne s'improvise pas maître es RFID.
