This works great! We have cooked hot dogs and hamburgers on it. It seems to cook a little hot, so has to be watched. The assembly was somewhat tedious, but we are older, so would probably not be a problem for younger, more agile fingers. Have enjoyed using it.

Love this grill, easy to assemble, work great and it's the perfect size for me, I cooked a full sized Tri Tip and 4 large Cajun sausages and it had room for a couple more, excellent grill in my opinion.

This Charbroil Bistro Pro portable grill is a winner! It needs some minor assembly which takes less than an hour. Pictograms guide you from beginning to end. Once it's put together it's sturdy and looks fantastic. It doesn't have a huge tabletop footprint and it's really easy to carry around and move. The major features are the stainless perforated cooking grate, hinge top dome lid, and push button ignition. It's intended to run on typical 1lb propane cylinders and they hang nicely on the back corner. Once you light it up it heats up fast. A thermometer on the lid gives you a visual as to when it's ready. We put a pair 1/2 lb sirloin burgers on the grate and they sizzled/smoked with the burner control set at 2/3. The burner control knob is responsive and predictable. The stainless grate does a really nice job of transferring heat. It can leave beautiful grill marks on your food without overcooking the interior. Size is more than adequate for small groups. Once you're finished, clean up is simple. A removable grease tray on the back can be emptied and washed. A metal scraper is included to clean the surface of the grate. It gets in between the ridges for the big stuff, and you can brush/wash for deeper cleaning. For being a portable grill, I'm impressed. It performs better than it's size suggests, and is versatile enough to cook low and slow or flat out HOT. The large lid gives you the ability to fit almost anything you want and keep it covered. Size is perfect for camping, apartment/condo cooking, jobsites, or as a daily for people that don't need a larger grill. 5 stars for build quality, performance, ease of cleaning, and value. Charbroil Store: Portable Propane Grill, 180in2 Stainless-Steel Surface, Uses a 1lb Propane Cylinder This product is a portable propane gas grill that utilizes one-pound (1lb) propane cylinders as its factory configured source of propane fuel. This grill has an appropriate propane pressure regulator mounded on the back side of the grill where a one-pound propane cylinder may be screwed into place. The grill is provided with a circular stainless-steel grill that measures just a little over 15-inches in diameter. This provides a cooking surface of approximately 180in2 according to the information provided on the product’s Amazon page. The stainless-steel grill is small enough that I have been able to take it off of the grill after the burgers were cooked (and the grill cooled, of course) and put it into my dishwasher for cleaning. This grill has a circular burner that is covered with a porcelain covered burner cover to prevent any grease from dripping onto the burner and causing a flare-up. Having a circular burner in the center of a circular grill with a circular cooking surface provides incredibly even cooking temperatures across the entire cooking area. The design of the circular stainless-steel grill is such that food placed upon the grill surface simply cannot slip between grill bars and be lost. Additionally, the grill marks imparted upon the food are absolutely perfect. I also found that because of the design of the grill surface, that the surface heats up very rapidly. This is due to the folded design of the stainless-steel grill surface being able to capture and hold onto the heat produced by the propane burner. This portable grill has a flip-up grill cover that has a thermometer mounted in the cover for monitoring the cooking temperature. I did note during the assembly process that the back surface of the included thermometer is flat while the surface of the grill cover is curved in two separate planes. This causes the four corners of the thermometer to stand proud of the grill cover and that provides a snag potential around the thermometer. The manufacturer should address this issue by making a thermometer the properly fits the grill cover. Honestly, I was not expecting to have to assemble this product. It was not difficult to assemble but that process was simply not expected to be required. The assembly “Instructions” are entirely graphical in nature so there is definitely some guessing involved along with flipping back and forth between the pages of the provided manual. I did have one issue during the assembly process. The propane regulator is connected to the propane control valve using a section of small diameter Corrugated Stainless-Steel Tubing (CSST). The wire support for the propane regulator must be assembled to the bowl of the grill by the purchaser and consequently it was left unattached to the grill during the packaging and shipping process. When that part of the grill was removed from the shipping box, I found that that CSST, where it was connected to the propane control valve, was oddly bent and very nearly kinked. Kinking of the CSST would have caused reduced gas flow and would have probably resulted in the gas burner not getting the needed quantity of propane gas for proper operation. I could not properly straighten the CSST with it attached to the propane control valve. So, I disconnected the CSST from the propane control valve and removed the entire assembly from the grill. I then very carefully straightened the CSST, ensuring there was not, and would not be, a kink in the CSST. The CSST was then very carefully bent into the required shape needed to be able to clear the grill’s bowl, fit into the two supports provided for the CSST underneath the grill’s bowl, and end up in the proper orientation for the wire support for the propane regulator to be attached. The CSST was then carefully re-connected to the propane control valve. The wire support for the propane regulator was then assembled to the grill’s bowl and everything was found to fit properly. Later testing proved that there were no gas leaks from the connection and all was right with the world. It was previously noted that this grill utilizes one-pound (1lb) propane cylinders as its factory configured source of propane fuel. It should be noted that, if the purchaser desires, a separate propane hose assembly may be purchased from Amazon that will allow a 5lb, 10lb, 20lb, or even larger) propane cylinder to be connected to this grill. This would allow the grill to be operated for much longer intervals without the need to replace the attached propane cylinder so often. This would still preserve the grill’s ability to use the one-pound propane cylinders and it portability. For my initial use of this grill, I chose to connect one of my Mr. Heater Fuel Keg refillable propane cylinders to provide the required propane fuel supply. It worked perfectly. Once the grill was completely assembled and the propane system checked for leaks (there were none), I washed the circular stainless-steel grill assembly to ensure it was clean and placed the grill assembly into place. The grill was then lit, allowed to come up to cooking temperature, and then several frozen hamburgers were placed onto the grill’s cooking surface. The sizzle began immediately. Minutes later, I had perfectly cooked burgers and the grill was shut off. After dinner, the cooled stainless-steel grill assembly was removed, along with the grease collection tray at the bottom of the grill, and they were put into my dishwasher for cleaning. I did note that there were only a couple of drops of grease present in the grease collection tray. The stainless-steel grill assembly came out of the dishwasher with some burnt-on food residue still on the stainless-steel surface. So, I scrubbed it with a green 3M Scotch-Brite scrubbing pad and the residue was removed after a few minutes of work. I suppose I could have sprayed the surface with oven cleaner to remove the burnt-on food residue, but I just chose the physical approach to clean the grill assembly. I suspect that the grill will be easier to clean as it is used more. While I did have to unexpectedly assemble this grill, it was not difficult. The instructions were more of an issue than the actual assembly of the product. I hope others do not have any issues with a kinked CSST but I do urge everyone to check this part carefully to ensure that there are no issues with the product that they receive. I do very much like this product. It is just the right size for me and my needs and, based upon its construction, it looks like it will last for a very long time. While others prefer to use charcoal as their heat source, the use of charcoal presents an entirely different set of issues that I just not want to deal with. Hank Hill would love this grill. As Hank would say, “Taste the Meat, Not the Heat!” This is a very nice product.
