I found out about this product when one of my friends started using it when her mouth was sore after she had a dental procedure. She described it as “cocaine for your teeth.” She wasn’t joking! I started using it when I was writhing in pain at night and unable to sleep due to intense tooth pain. It starts working in minutes and kills the pain so I can sleep again. It’s especially good for my situation because I can’t afford to go to the dentist and the local dental school is always fully booked and never has a spot available no matter how many times I call. The taste is not too intense, the price is reasonable, and what’s better is that it comes in a pack of two. It lasts for months so it can hold me over until I am able to book an appointment at my local dental school to fix my teeth.

Love this orajel pen. Very easy to use and seems to be able to work better with for reaching specific areas in need of pain control. Highly recommend!!

I've used this to both hold me over for a root canal and a couple of canker sores. It seems to work better on gums especially when they were sore. I had a hole in my tooth that needed a root canal, this sort of helped temporarily until I finally got it fixed by a dentist. It doesn't really calm the nerves in the tooth, seems primarily for gums. I wouldn't say it's long lasting, my canker sores would throb in pain again, but hurts less after about an hour, it kills the pain pretty quick on those. Taste is minty and bitter, has pieces like residue of the menthol in the gel. I'd say it's more like a menthol cough drop just in gel form in terms of taste.

The product in the Orajel Rescue Relief Pen works great, in fact, I'm enjoying gum pain relief right now. The taste is not offensive, the menthol isn't irritating (I'm pleasantly surprised about that), and it hasn't worn off yet. Its portability is also a plus. Except that what makes it portable is its slim 4 inch long 'pen' design with a flexible applicator at the top and a twisty, clicky dispenser at the bottom. It's difficult to get it to work initially and now that I have, it seems unsanitary. I wasted product getting the right amount to flow because it's near impossible to see the clear liquid filling the clear applicator. But the deal breaker for me is that Orajel put more effort into its product delivery system instead of the Rescue Pen's ease of use and providing a decent amount of product (0.07 ounces is a really small amount, one that makes me dubious about the promise of 50 uses per pen). To be clear, 20% benzocaine is a great ingredient but hardly unique and is available in other similar remedies - including some by Orajel - in less expensive, less wasteful and easier to apply forms. One of which I've just ordered from Amazon.

I love this orajel pen . There is no mess . It is so easy; children will love this because they can do it their self .

When you need it you need it! We seem to always be having some type of pain in the families mouths. I would recommend that everyone have at least one of these in their home for emergencies. If you have a tooth ache or a painful spot on your gum this will relieve that pain quickly.

I had a filling fall out and it was a while before I could get an appointment to have it fixed. These worked perfect to numb the sensitivity coming from it. They are easy to carry in your pocket or purse. And they numb for a good while so you dont have to constantly reapply.

Worked ok for pain. Applicator was useless. I ended up putting on my finger and applying.
