MediTac Tuning Fork With Weight - 128 Hz

I teach neurology to medical residents and students. Some of them arrive on my service without bringing reflex hammers or 128 Hz tuning forks which are essential for neurologic examination. I sell these at cost so the trainees can start examining patients right away. These inexpensive tuning forks do the job and I have thus far not had reports of them falling apart.

As a Neurologist, let me be the first to say that you should not waste your money on this tuning fork. I bought a slightly heavier tuning fork for myself for a few extra dollars, and meanwhile, my colleague asked me to get this tuning fork for him to save a few dollars. Let's just say, we were both laughing.It does not weigh enough. It can barely generate any vibration, and the vibration is only maintained transiently for a few seconds with light application and is immediately lost with a reasonable degree of pressure. You cannot accurately examine the peripheral nervous system with this fork.I am considering returning it out of principle, despite the fact that return shipping would cost more than the fork.

Just needed a cheap easy way to show a class how these are used in nerve evaluations for a foot exam. These are just right.
