Works good but pretty pricey.
I bought this for my water lily that needed a bigger pot. Good soil. Didn’t cloud the water. Lilies growing good but used the whole bag for only one plant. Will try to find something cheaper next time.

Works great
Great for pond plants. Still some cloudy water, but pretty tame overall.

Best substrate!
My favorite substrate for planted aquariums, my aquatic plants grow great with this as a base layer!

Wouldn't recommend for floating planters
I got this to use with the Aquascape oval floating pond planter and as soon as I put the planter in the pond (with one small hosta lily in it) it sunk like a rock. Hard time getting it out because the pond soil had gotten SO HEAVY it was like pulling up a basket of bricks! The planter styrofoam in the planter got damaged pulling it out! I followed the instructions for both floating planter and soil. Seems like good, rich soil for marginal/edge plants but I would NOT have spent this much money for that use...I'd just use pea gravel. Very disappointed, but gave it 3 stars because I can use it for marginals.

The Easiest Pond Soil to Work With
I have bought TONS of this soil. I tried other brands and I really didn't like them. Other brands were crumbly and kind of weird. This soil is very heavy and moist seems the easiest to work with.

Perfect aquatic plant soil, albeit expensive.
This is great soil for aquatic plants, albeit expensive, but necessary if heavy loam soil isn’t readily available. I began using it last year and the plants are happy.

Perfect for my balcony waterlily "pond"
I have a balcony and wanted to have waterlilies... which I grew from seed and then needed to plant properly in a pond. So this was the perfect soil to make this happen and I was so relieved as I had put a lot of time and attention in germinating the seed, and once rooted, the planting. It was such fun. Yes, don't hesitate, this is perfect. I used small breathable bags to hold the soil and seed and allow the water to filter through, and the soul was the perfect compilation to work in water.
