In depth review as of 2026 and some usage of it :)
This backpack has a classic rucksack design with no complicated or oversized zippers, which makes it incredibly straightforward and intuitive to use. Functionally, it’s simple in the best way which is what i was shopping for, everything is easy to access and understand without overthinking it. The size is exactly what I was looking for. I wanted something that could double as a weekender bag while still pairing well with my traditional canvas carry-on bag, and this fits that role perfectly. It holds enough for a short trip without feeling bulky or oversized. The exterior is canvas, so it has a slightly coarse, rugged texture that gives it a durable, lived-in feel. Inside, however, it’s fully lined with a softer material that protects your belongings and feels much more refined. If we are to be a tad ridiculous im going to lie and say its made from real silk and feels like the most expensive pillowcase you've ever bought :D lol. just kidding of course. In terms of organization, it really delivers. There are plenty of pockets and compartments for separating smaller items, tech accessories, toiletries, and other essentials. The side pockets are best suited for smaller water bottles, but if you carry something larger like a big Hydro Flask, it likely won’t fit securely as mine doesnt. Overall, it’s a practical, well-sized, and thoughtfully designed backpack that balances simplicity with functionality.

Very Nice Large Sturdy Cotton Canvas Backpack
Yes guys, this bag is nice. If you're an insecure guy like me, don't worry about the girly name because it is not at all prominent. At least not on the black version. And this could be the small, inconspicuous marker that you and I are maturing. - Looks "Fantastic" - Large. I'm 5'11", I wanted an extra-large bag. This bag is just right for me. Fits a "good" amount of stuff. Almost too big for me (visually), but I have a shorter torso. - Great, beautiful, sturdy, strong cotton canvas material. Not stiff, but sturdy canvas. - Pockets: - 3 large outer pockets - no less than 5 inner variable-sized pockets - large inner chamber - with a rear notebook/folder divider; it's a large 6th inner pocket - Lining: Decent or better natural-appearing material. Lining in natural canvas bags is often an issue for me because it can be synthetic-y shiny and often clashes with the natural look (makes me want to brf), and I even prefer bags without linings for this horrible reason (hard to find, and lining serves a purpose). However the lining in these bags appears to be softer cotton material, like a strong cotton handkerchief; at most I'd guess it to be 50/50, but seems more natural than that. Note that in order to keep a "full" shape, you'd have to pack it accordingly since it's not ultra-stiff "synthetic" canvas. However you won't be disappointed in the quality of this sturdy cotton canvas. And, you're here because your looking for a beautiful "real" cotton canvas backpack, right? So glad I ordered this... Whatever you have to pay, don't complain because this is the real deal, and quality is "worth it". I was able to get it at a great price by even 1994 standards (ridiculous). But had I paid 2-3 times as much or more, I'd feel the same. (rant: in 1994 I paid $50 for a slightly smaller synthetic canvas bag with a leather bottom, from a "strong" brand at the time. Makes me want to throw up because THIS (Kattee) bag is what I REALLY wanted... And today was less expensive. Life... (THEN... In 1997 I paid the same amount for the same style bag from the same brand, but it had tackyish synthetic leather!! GAWD!!) SPEW CITY!!! And!! (yes, there's more) you can fit two 16/20 oz water bottles in EACH of the side pockets. Sealed Deal. Utility. Wanted: - more bags from this company with even more outer pockets.

Best School Backpack I've Ever Had
This is my school bag, and I love it. It looks great, and holds whatever I need it to - that being a 17" laptop, tablet, studio headphones, a pencil case, a few full sized hardback books, and a couple of water bottles. Even with all that, there's room to spare. Some don't like the magnetic closures; they work for me, however, and I don't have any negative feelings about them. I've been back at school a year now, and this pack has dealt admirably with being heavily loaded from time to time; even when carrying around metal stock for blacksmithing, or 25 pound. bags of clay for pottery class. The interior pouches are handy as well, which is something I don't often find in the more ploy-whatever weave type backpacks. Color has remained unbleached as well, which has been a problem with other canvas packs I've owned in the past. So far, no frays or broken seams. I recommend this backpack to anyone wanting a practical, no frills, workhorse pack that has all you need in a bag and nothing you don't.

Excellent design & materials. One of my favorite bags. May not be ideal for larger folk.
I have a minor obsession with backpacks and bags and I was very excited to try this canvas bag out from Kattee. I intended to and presently still do, use this bag as my 'daily driver.' It goes with me to and from work and almost everywhere else I go. Inside I have my laptop, various cables, adapters, note pad, pens, first aid kit, some other I.T. related items and so on. The bag appears to be very well made. The canvas looks and feels great if you like that type of material. There is a large pocket on the front and two smaller ones on the side. These pockets are quite large and hold a variety of things. The top of the bag has draw strings to close the opening. When loose it's as big as the bag itself. I love this feature. It's quick to open and quick to close. Inside there are a number of cloth pockets both open and zippered to hold various items. It has a handle at the top and I personally love the smell of the bag (weird i know.) Now some things I want to point out. First of all, and this may be downright obvious to some people, but the bag is completely canvas cloth so it has no rigidity to it all. So if there's nothing inside it it will completely collapse down to a puddle on the floor. The only time this bothers me is when I need to look for or insert something in the bag. You have to hold the bag open to get it in. Perfect example is my laptop in a sleeve. I expected this but it does slightly complicate quickly finding things and putting things in the bag. If you are in a complete rush to get out the door this will slow you down where more rigid bags will not. Also, the buckles on the front and sides are all for appearance. They do work but they are attached via magnetic 'buttons' to the bag and there is no point to ever buckle or un-buckle them. These are great when you need to get in the pouches because you just pull it open. Closing the clasps however are sometimes difficult for me. I haven't had bags that use these before but sometimes I had trouble getting the magnet to attach. This also slows things down. So far I can accept all these little issues and not think twice about them. However the shoulder straps are another story. Full disclosure, I'm a fat guy (2XL - 3XL on shirts). So my shoulders, back, chest and arms are bigger than the average bear. I'm fully aware of this and it has never been a problem before when it comes to backpacks. But the straps have two problems that are presently putting me on the fence on this bag. First are the double D-rings that you use to loosen / tighten the straps. They easily slide loose on their own. I'm constantly having to tighten them to hold the bag up off my butt. I don't want the bag dragging behind me, I want it on my back. For me, this leaves much to be desired. Second, because of my size the ends of the padded part of the shoulder straps AND the Double D ring dig into my arms and my chest. Example is if I have the bag on and I'm reaching out to grab something straight ahead they'll dig into my arms / chest. If I reach one of my arms across my chest it'll happen then too. One of the reasons I typically use backpacks instead of other types of bags is because my hands are full. I'm taking something to/from work/home and i need to use my hands. So just be aware if you are bigger than XL on your shirts this MAY be an issue. All that being said, I do not blame Kattee for my large size and only took away one star for all above mentioned issues because a large number of the population are, lets say, not skinny. Overall this is a great backpack. It looks great, is made well, heavy and durable material. It should age very well. I think that many people would be happy to own this. Furthermore the price, in my opinion seems perfectly reasonable. I had no issues paying what I did for the bag. If this style of bag peaks your interest I doubt that you'll be disappointed.

YEP! It's my diaper bag of awesome!
I FINALLY have found a suitable bag for my purse contents as well as a DIAPER BAG! I refuse to tote around 2 different bags. Especially one being a hideous diaper bag that I would only use during my tiddle one's wee years. I wanted something that I not only could, but would continue to use loooong after I needed it for baby reasons. The front pocket is big enough to hold 9 diapers on one side, and the baggy of wipes right next to it. I also carry my disinfectant wipes for my hands, as well as his bottle and pacifier disinfectant wipes on the go, all in just the front pocket. The sides hold my wallet and change purse on one side, the other is used for extra pacifiers, bottles, and emergency baby gear. The main inner compartment has places for everything as well, so I don't have my purse necessities just thrown in the massive main compartment, which forces you to dig blindly for things. That's not an issue with this bag, thank goodness because I was certainly afraid that it may be. There is two (about) 6 x 9 inch zip-up inner pockets, one decent sized pocket (holds my multiple 4.5 x 3.25 notepads and lotion), and finally two little pockets for pens, lipsticks, lighters-all of the small things you're always searching for on the bottom of your purse or bag. I love that the leather buckle detail is strictly a detail made with thick, quality leather. I would definitely return it if I had to buckle and unbuckle every time I needed to change my tiddle one. Instead there is a magnetic clasp on the back side, along with two side snaps if you're worried about any unwanted openings. This is on ALL pockets as well.. I hope this helps anyone struggling with their possible purchase by taking the time and writing this. It took me 3 days of relentlessly searching amazon before making my decision, and I was searching hiking back packs, army bags, everything! I needed something to help organize, yet be stylish, and I found it in this bag! Im thoroughly happy! As you can see from my pictures, after putting everything I needed inside, there is much more room to spare. The bag collapses, so whatever you have inside it, will determine its shape and how it will stand up once sat down. When I do put my laptop in it, I do ensure that I have a padded case for it,then put it in the bag for my own extra peace of mind. I feel as if this backpack will most definitely last. The canvas is really dense and strong, along with the thick quality leather, the extra side buttons for maximum prevention from anything accidentally falling out, and secured stitching, I know I made a superb purchase.

Very pleased with this bag
Great bag. Many compliments. Room for a lot of stuff. I use it as my everyday work bag but it is also great as a carry-on for traveling. It is flexible and can hold a lot of stuff. If carrying a computer or iPad be sure to secure it in its pouch and be careful when placing the bag on the floor not to put it down too hard. I ordered green but the color is more beige/brown. You can wear it like a backpack or use the sturdy top handle to carry it. My only complaint is there is one flap that has to sit in front of the compartment for the computer or you cannot secure the computer with the strap. Great value for the money.

Fine backpack
Have had this backpack for about 8 months now and I use it daily. It is as advertised, large amount of space, plenty of compartments and comfortable to wear. My critique of this backpack is that it has no rigidity or support so placing things in and taking things out can be challenging. It is almost like a shopping bag in that fashion, just floppy. Some of the stitch lines are already loosening up and the strap mechanism to keep it closed doesn't stay tight which aren't deal breakers for me. Overall, does the job but I'm looking for another backpack simply because I find it annoying to use.

Great backpack and large enough
Very pleased. looks good, stylish and a bit retro, also it doesn't stand out as being flash and expensive therefore attracting unwanted attention if you have valuables in it. Would easily fit in a laptop plus other stuff. Big enough to fit everything in it for a family day out (coats/jumpers/drinks). Good internal pockets and fabric. The leather straps have fake buckles but with a press stud fastening. Beware as the buckles if come undone may get lost as they will fall off the straps ! Drawstring top with flap over so it opens up like a duffel bag meaning you can easily get to things inside. Decent sized side pockets for water bottles. If this review helped please indicate below, thanks.

So happy I got this backpack!
I got this backpack because I wanted to finally have a good place to store all of my things with lots of room. I also wanted it easy to carry because I was getting tired of having heavy purse hurting my right shoulder. My favourite bag ever was when I was a teen and had a canvas backpack from the army surplus store and I used it all through middle school and high school and it lasted and never ripped. Over the years, i have bought the nylon backpacks and none have lasted at all, the lining rips or the seams do and they have not lasted either. I also love the vintage look and started looking for a vintage backpack and totally fell in love with this well made retro looking bag from Kattee. Priced at $60 and reading how well made it was with thick leather straps and thick canvas, I thought it reminded me of my old beloved bag from school. Well it is way better - so good looking and I just love it!!! I have been using it all week for my new job and I have easily packed my lunch bag in there, a sweater, my makeup, notebook, my book to read on the bus etc. I am so happy I found it! Update: well the bag is still really beautiful, sturdy and holds my lunch and stuff for work - unfortunately the darn magnetic things keep falling off for the snaps and i have lost 3 so far, so it sucks because if any more fall off, my stuff will start falling out.

Buena
Buena, amplia y resistente.
