Love these for our TTRPG's. We've been using them for decades. The last one that I bought I bought in 2015 and it lasted till December 2025. It would have lasted longer except we did our Christmas wrapping on it, and someone - not going to say who! - may have accidentally pressed too hard with the paper cutter and went through the cardboard into our megamat.

Been using this for a few months now. Great for expanding the map either to pre-draw a larger and more complex area, or to make open ranged combat feel more useful and effective. The only thing worth mentioning as an issue is that the first time or two you draw anything on it, the wet erase markers seem to bead up into thin lines. This was initially pretty depressing as it made the lines along the grid lines hard to distinguish and also just made the map look weak compared to my dry erase maps and markers. Don’t worry. After a couple of good wipe downs from cleaning off your maps, the coating or whatever is on the surface that causes the issue, is cleared or conditioned and all your lines begin to lay down smoothly and with more width. Also, having hexes on the flip side made it nice for an old fashioned hex-crawl that was included in the campaign. Great map, which serves as my main for the table while using my old dry erase maps for smaller encounters or for hidden rooms or expansions off the main dungeon/structure.

As advertised. This mat is an extremely useful tool that belongs in every DM's toolkit.

I've used paper and pen, map ring books, and dry erase mats before. The size and ease of use is great. Being able to draw the map before with my notes, wrap it up and have it ready to play is great. It will STAIN with dry erase markers. It doesn't come with any case so you may want to get a poster tube or something to house it. The reversible quality means I can have my dungeon on one side as still use the back to draw out the random encounter where the rouge, needs to escape after getting caught stealing. It's heavy enough to lay flat, will allow it's self to be partially unrolled for a smaller area. It's big it takes up half of an eight person dinning table. Kind of to short and a little to wide for players to be around it on said dinning table, in the middle of two folding tables you will need something to help movie pieces.

I've been using these mats since the 90s. Here's what you need to know: 1) Expo Green and Black markers come off easily after a week of leaving them on 2) Staedler Blue and Green markers also come off easily after a week of leaving them on 3) Do NOT use red markers, they stain in mere moments and while they'll fade over time, you'll always see them if you look 4) Do NOT use an abrasive or aggressive cleaner or rubbing tool; these mats use a coating to maintain their wet erasiveness; once the coating is dissolved it ceases to be wet eraseable 5) NEVER, EVER use dry erase Pictures are my current, 20 year old mat where I've learned a lot of these lessons the hard way. The first close up was my attempt at cleaning up a red stain with a cleaner, which faded the lines, didn't even remove the stain, and now that area doesn't erase properly. The second is a test red mark I made for this review, which after only 1 hour (a very reasonable time for a single gaming scene) refuses to come up with any amount of effort

I am 100% satisfied with my mat Yes it comes all rolled up and lumpy, just roll it up longways and change which side is facing outward each time you put it away and it will become smooth. Yes it will never erase 100% cleanly because it is porous and needs to be in order to roll up. Your mat getting dingy and dirty looking is a badge of honor! Even old white boards get this way and you have to replace those.

Made in my hometown in Indiana! great product and easy to clean! Make sure you use wet erase markers! Have used it in my DND campaign for 2 years now and looks good as new. Little water to get almost everything off. Have used alcohol on dark stubborn spot (had to make a bottomless pit; a lot of black) other than that super easy to work with and use. Would recommend putting it flat in the sun for an hour to get it nice and flat!

This is hands-down the best mat for TTRPGs. This is my second mat. I lost the old one in a move, and I feel bad for needing to spend the $$ to get another, but it is worth it. Do not use dry-erase. I always use BLACK or GREEN wet-erase vis-a-vis pens, and it all comes off fine with wet paper towel. CAVEAT: Do NOT use the RED vis-a-vis pens, as they do not erase so well.
