Color Depositing Mask & Glossing Treatment, Soft Black, 8 Fl Oz

I put the soft black on bleach blond hair, it was SO black for like 4 or 5 washes then it had a green tint and it started to stain my grey section so I bleached it and it turned soooo green. Just an FYI it’s a pretty green but it’s very green, I lightened twice to get the lighter green in the last picture. The first two were the first couple days. My sister also used it and it did not take to her blonde hair, it just turned like forest/emerald green so I am assuming to get the dark black from it you’ll need porous hair.

I am so disappointed! It smells and feels great. Softened my hair a bit, but absolutely no color stayed on my hair. I purchased the soft black and saturated my hair with it. 100% of grays did not get covered. I watched tutorials and read reviews beforehand. Would not recommend.

I don't typically review products like ever unless I experience a severe issue, but I wanted to give my feedback on how well this has worked for me for my own needs anyway. I am about 7 months pregnant and have been using most of my pregnancy to stop dyeing my hair with permanent black dye so I can do something different next year. Unfortunately between baby shower events, maternity shoots and just my daily life growing bigger and bigger I have not felt very pretty most days and don't want to feel that way in photos. My hair grow out just felt embarrassing. I really had very little hope for a semi permanent black product to do anything to my virgin roots but this has actually stuck through several washes. It isn't as black on virgin hair as the rest of my hair obviously but it has removed that harsh line that was really detrimental to my self esteem, and in person I can't see the difference .There's so much product in this jar is can do my roots for probably a whole year lol. I will say, it stains your skin like crazy if you're not careful, which I didn't expect for a colored mask. Wear gloves and clean it up with alcohol. It really made my roots soft and glossy like you expect as well, I imagine using this product over all virgin hair would still like amazing, but it blends my line of demarcation great!

i used this on my dyed level 5 hair in the color soft black. i have normal to thick hair that goes to about my mid back and i had to use the whole tub. the color deposited really well on my processed hair, but on my virgin roots it did not stick (which is pretty normal for semi permanent color). i’ve washed my hair about 5 times now and the color still has not faded at all. also note that it has blue undertone’s and in certain light my hair does look a bit blue and i didn’t find this to make my hair look glossy. my BIGGEST issue with this product is how badly it stains. if the tiniest bit gets on the tile, it will stain even if you wipe it up with soap and water within SECONDS. i’ve used all types of semipermanent dyes and none have ever stained like this one. even after the fifth wash, i have to scrub my shower down after i get out because it will stain the floor. OVERALL- while i don’t think this is a BAD product, i do find it a little pricey to only get one use out of. if yours looking for a product that will last a LONG time in your hair, i would give it a try (but i would definitely recommend applying it outside and doing the initial rinse outside). if you’re looking for a color that will wash out after a few washes or a product that will leave your hair super shiny, i would look elsewhere.

I wanted to love it. Smells great. Did NOT last more than 3-4 washes. I have very average hair. 1 bottle of store bought hair dye usually covers all my hair. This product didn’t. Also washing my hair after has permanently stained my shower. I have scrubbed and scrubbed and everything is tinted. Some of the worst staining I’ve ever had. Smells good. Initial color was great. I would not buy again.

I will just buy the clear gloss next time because I do feel it improved my hair texture and made it very silky and healthier however the black did not cover my hair at all. It rinsed out after two washed and I can't even tell I colored my hair. I have been doing my own hair for ten plus years and this is horrible, especially considering Brad is a hair stylist this should be better. $30 is a waste.

Very subtle color change from medium/dark brown to a soft black/ deep brown tone. Smells really good and hair was super soft and shiny. One negative is that it will stain surfaces blue and is extremely difficult to get out even when rinsing the dye out in the tub. It will stain your tub pretty bad. Also had my nails get stained as well. For sure wear gloves and protect surfaces before application and clean your tub immediately after rinsing.

I ADORE this product. I have used XMONDO before in the Garnet shade, and I enjoyed it, so I decided to use this soft black color. I was so impressed to read that it contains no PPD (which a lot of drug store black hair dyes have, and it can cause horrible allergic reactions) and is vegan. The product is thick, almost like a gel, so it's not going to drip and run as the more liquid dyes do. I found this makes the application a thousand times easier. It has a very light, pleasant floral smell. Before application, I put Vaseline around my hairline (forehead, ears, and back of neck) and used gloves to apply the product. I let it sit for 20 minutes and then rinsed it out. I had NO issues with it staining my skin or my tub/shower or towels/pillowcases, etc. I put fresh gloves on to rinse the color out of my hair, and I rinsed it for a good 10 minutes just to be thorough. I would say if you do get any on your skin, just use some micellar water or makeup remover, and it should wash off easily. I let my hair air dry, and when it was dry, it was so beautiful. The color was distributed evenly through my hair, it is a shiny black, looks so healthy, not flat and dull. For reference, my hair is naturally an auburn brown, and it is long (almost to the small of my back, but cut in layers), straight, and has a fine to medium texture. I used about 1/3 of the jar to completely cover my hair, so there is a lot left over for touch-ups. My skin is sensitive, but I had zero reaction to this product. I really can't say enough good about it.
