The Sandman Omnibus Vol. 3 [Gaiman, Neil, Bachalo, Chris, Quitely, Frank, Russell, P. Craig] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. The Sandman Omnibus Vol. 3 Review: Gorgeous volumes - Third of a a three-volume hardcover omnibus set. As gorgeous and high-quality as the previous two. This volume contains serval side stories, including the two Death-centered stories, both versions of The Dream Hunters, and the newer Overture story. It may not be the most practical thing to try and read, do to its size, but it's very elegant-looking on the shelf. I do wish that the newer printings of this set still had the black-powdered page edges, but it still looks very nice even without that. If you're looking at this, you probably already have the other two books so you know what to expect. Go ahead and buy this one now. Review: excellent addition to a Sandman collection - I was delighted to see that (I think) all the Sandman-related works that have appeared since the original comics (collected in the first two Sandman Omnibus volumes), with the exception of the ongoing “Sandman Universe” series, had been collected into a third Omnibus volume. Among the standout features of this volume are two versions of “The Dream Hunters,” a seeming Japanese folk tale about a young monk and the female fox-spirit who loved him that Gaiman says he completely made up (but the imitation was good enough to fool lots of people, including some scholars): one with absolutely stunning full-page (sometimes two-page) paintings by Yoshitaka Amano, and one with very nice comic-style illustrations (but with the flavor of traditional Japanese woodcuts) by P. Craig Russell; two stories featuring the Sandman’s charming Goth-girl sister, Death, who I suspect that most fans love even more than Dream himself; and lovely Galleries of different artists’ takes on Dream, Death, and (to a lesser extent) the rest of their entertainingly dysfunctional family (Desire, Despair, Delirium, Destruction, and Destiny). Like the first two Omnibus volumes, the book isn’t cheap, but it’s worth every penny if you are (like me) an addict of the series and its characters or if you’re a fan of graphic-novel/comic art or fantasy art in general.

The Perfect Presentation For Gaiman's Entrancing Art!
I've been waiting for something just like this, since I picked up my very first Sandman Issue1, back in college in the 90's! ONE issue had me hooked! This set is bound SO beautifully! They will look stunning in my library, but could easily look perfect on the shelves at say the National Archives! I haven't opened them yet, because I'll admit I'm intimidated! All 3 of them are SO BIG, and i know i face one of 2 realities: either A) I sit up for the next 10 days straight, without eating, drinking, or going to the bathroom, until my system goes into shock; OR, I spend the next 5 years just reading a few pages at a time, so I can savor it longer! This is a FANTASTIC set, the BEST graphic novel omnibus I've ever seen
