Where is this dog food made?

While being made in the USA is a good thing. the representative failed to elaborate on where all its ingredients are sourced. Please provide all this information as well, as Science Hill claimed the same, but it’s synthetic vitamins were sourced from China which owned a factory in the USA. This ended up causing many dogs to become ill and many passed as well. Please, research this as it happened , and not just once. The representatives statement really didn’t sit well with me, and for that reason.....I will research elsewhere. Natures logic makes better made food and also Primal. I had enough of these companies and non transparency.

This is the Grain Free formula,correct?

No but be careful with grain free! I was feeding grain free but grain free dog foods have been associated with heart failure. High amounts of lentils, peas, pea protein and potato are thought to be the culprit. Your best to stick with good grains. Rice is a good grain and you want to avoid food filled with filler grains. I like the ingredients in the taste of the wild ancient grains dog food but unfortunately for me the only one that doesn’t have any poultry is one my dog hates. To the point he will only eat if I zhuzh it up with ground beef and grated sweet potato & carrot. So I tried this kibble and my dog actually likes it. A dog I adopted as a senior who seems to have only been fed human food his whole life. A dog with skin issues, alopecia and allergies. So as long as he tolerates this kibble I’m sold.

What is the actual percentage of meat in this recipe? Salmon isnt a meal, & all I see is cereal grains that follow, with fish meal being far down list

Read the guaranteed analysis label first, then go to the list of ingredients which are always listed via the highest amount to the lowest amount of each particular ingredient. This way you know if you see that salmon is listed after 8 ingredients it’s garbage food and don’t purchase it. Being a CVT I can tell you that Purina ProPlan is one of the best in the market. If you check the ingredients Salmon is first on the list meaning it contains the mist of that ingredient which is the most important since it’s the protein source. Pro Plan has moved up in dog food industry now surpassing brands like Hills (unless it’s the Rx formula), BB, Nutro, Taste of the Wild etc. No it’s not as good as Royal Canin but I switched my pit who had allergic dermatitis and other skin issues from the RC (Rx only formula) due to the expense which I could no longer afford. Then I gradually switched her to ProPlan Salmon and Rice formula over a 7-10 day period. Salmon is great for allergies due to the omega fatty acids. Pro Plan is legit and my pit has no issues from the switch and the same results as RC Salmon blend formula. People care more about buying designer brand food like that Rachel Ray garbage; sorry but being a celeb cook doesn’t mean you know anything about creating proper formulas for a different species. Nonetheless people pay 3x the price for dog food that will likely give their fur baby kidney/heart/liver disease down the road. And Lisa never give your dog a food with 3 proteins….no wonder it has issues, if you’d managed to look at the ProPlan ingredients you’d see there is no grain listed, except for there being ground rice. Furthermore grain free food is just a ploy for manufacturers to make money by the way. There is nothing wrong with having some grain in dog food. They just take advantage of ppl not knowledgeable about dog nutrition and sadly there are far to many on this thread.

The fish smell is strong. Our two dogs now have bad gas, didn't before. Does this go away with those of you that have had gassy dogs?

My dogs were eating this for a long time, still had really smelly gas and bad breath. I switched foods mainly because of a batch or two I bought that the dogs wouldn't eat. Still good food, just my dogs stopped wanting it :( I switched them to Blue Basics limited ingredient Salmon and Sweet Potato food and not only do they love it, they don't have bad gas anymore.

My dog’s always had stomach trouble with allergies, since I switched him over to this food, his stomach’s calmed down his poop has gotten solid. His health issues have improved, so no other better dog food in my opinion, if your dog has a lot of gut issues or yeast issues. This is the best food I have found to work.

This dog food is amazing. I started feeding it to my dogs as one of them had horrible skin allergies and chronic ear issues. Onece I started this it stopped and they love it. I have been using it for 6 years. No more allergy pills. I highly recommend.

I bought this dog food because I thought my dog might be allergic to chicken, so I decided to splurge on this one. Unfortunately, it turned into a nightmare. The very first time I offered it to my dog, he wouldn’t eat it, which was unusual. I initially thought maybe it was just the flavor he didn’t like. But then I noticed a couple of black bugs in the food. I brushed it off, thinking maybe they crawled in by accident. By the second time I went to feed him, I saw more of these bugs actually inside the airtight bucket where I store all his food. I’ve never had this issue with any other brand. The third time, it got even worse: I found dried worms and even some that were still alive. Today, the bucket was just infested with black bugs and worms. This is absolutely disgusting and unhealthy for animals. I’ve had to contact Amazon about returning it, and now I have to take my dog to the vet to make sure he hasn’t gotten worms from this food. It’s way overpriced for the quality, and I’ve never seen anything like this happen with dog food before. I don’t know if it was a factory issue or what, but it’s just unacceptable. Do not buy this product.
