This product review is for the Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 4th generation USB audio interface sold and shipped by Amazon. The product arrived on time and in good condition as expected. The internet is chock full of in-depth reviews, appraisals and head-to-head challenges against other top audio manufacturers regarding all of the features that Focusrite has packed in to this versatile 1U rackmount device. From the quiet, responsive, clear preamps to the more than adequate converters and signal routing capabilities, I would agree with the general consensus that the 18i20 is a quality unit and more than up to the tasks it was designed for. While I haven’t had this unit long enough to test every function, I can say that the initial hardware setup was a breeze, as was the software configuration on an older PC running Windows 11. Focusrite has clearly spent significant amounts of time and resources designing a pleasant OOB experience. The included production software package is on par with other interface manufacturers at this price point and probably adequate for most to get started with, at least at an entry level. Of note, I particularly enjoyed the Relab LX480 Essentials reverb plugin. I expect that this unit will last many years, as Focusrite did not cut any corners in overall build quality. Everything feels solid. Based on my first Focusrite product; a Scarlett 2i2 first gen purchased in 2013, which is still fully functional, I would hope to get at least 10 years out of this one. Bottom line: I would recommend this to anyone looking to update their setup from a limited number of ins/outs to 8 onboard preamps, ADAT expandability and many, many outputs for less than $1000. The Focusrite Scarlet 18i20 falls well within the price to features ratio I was looking for.

Sehr gutes Audio Interface mit, für mich, genügend analogen und digitalen Ein- und Ausgängen. Die Audio Qualität is super und das Interface hat bei mir nie Probleme gemacht. Mit der Focusrite Control 2 Software lässt sich das Interface flexible an die eigenen Bedürfnisse anpassen und so z.B. Ein- und Ausgänge flexibel mit einander verbinden oder mixen. Ich habe nur gute Erfahrungen mit der Firma Focusrite gemacht die ihren Support auch aus Europa herraus erfüllt. So konnte ich 2025 ein Ersatzteil für ein 9 Jahre altes Focusrite Audio Interface über den Focusrite Support kaufen und mir so eine Neuanschaffung in der Höhe von 800€ ersparen.
