Initial use
The shaver is supplied about half charged and the instruction booklet doesn't fully explain the cleaning process, ie. When in the cleaning stand and switched on the shaver only runs for a few seconds.

The best and closest shave I've had withban electric razor so far. Comfortable. Just takes a while to shave properly though, but that's similar to other models I find

Easy to use, silent, but not as close shave as linear shavers
It works fine and is silent and forgiving from a technique perspective. However compared to linear shavers (Braun) this does not shave as closely has a slightly less premium feel. I really wanted to like it but I think I will gift this to my dad and go back to the Braun. Beware though, each of these shavers require different techniques. If you are an unstructured shaver (shaving in cirles, any which way) then Philips is the way to go. If you shave electric as if you had a blade (linear) then Braun is better.

Even shave. Not a close shave.
Good build quality. Enjoy having the cleaner. However, compared to my Braun Pro, the shave is not nearly as close, however, it does get a more consistent shave. The braun is as good as wet shaving. This is clearly not

Overall happy with purchase
I bought this to replace a 5 year old 9000 series. This is a more sturdy shaver and gives a good close shave. Not sure that an app is necessary to tell you if you are shaving correctly! I can do that by feeling my chin. Overall I am happy with my purchase.
