So bad the smell was turmeric and not even clear color not good for coloring

It has a slight yucky taste when adding to the frosting (it’s tumeric afterall) and it creates a Gold color, not yellow. Still on the hunt for a yellow. (The blue in this pic is spirulina which I’d highly recommend)

Pay attention to product size, I didn’t the bottle is small. Great product and good for its purpose.

This Nutricolor Yellow Organic Turmeric coloring powder from Nutricost comes in a sealed clear plastic jar in plastic wrap and a seal under the cap. There is an expiration date clearly printed on the bottom of the jar and it is good till May 2028, which is a long time. It is USDA Organic and is packaged and quality tested in the US. This is a plant-based yellow food coloring made from organic turmeric powder and does not have any other additives, especially artificial colors or preservatives. I am not really pleased with the color of this turmeric powder though. I compared it with my regular organic turmeric root powder and found this powder brownish yellow, and the smell is not potent like my regular turmeric powder. I have attached a picture of a comparison of both the powders; the top one is regular turmeric, and the bottom one is Nutricolor. Both are mixed in the same frosting and you can see the difference in color and vibrancy. Now, I am not sure whether this Nutricolor turmeric powder has gone through some process or what that made it less yellow. Also, the taste is not as strong as regular turmeric powder, which is actually good because you do not want to taste it in sweet treats. This yellow turmeric powder is easy to use and it easily mixes in without any clumps. But it does not mix completely in the liquids, and you can see the particles in the liquid floating and later settling on the bottom. This yellow turmeric color can be used in various recipes. I am mostly going to use it in savory dishes and curries. Price is reasonable for an organic turmeric powder.
