Packed with 'fins', good surface area, unlike another one bought a while ago which I didnt realise was much lighter, smaller area, than these, and the one that came with our tub.

Does the job

I bought this when I did a search for the c-4950 filter - except this was $20 less. I compared the stated length and hole opening and the length was identical and the opening width was 1/16th of a inch wider. I put it in my spa and it fit fine. I've purchased more expensive filters with and without "anti bacterial coatings" and haven't been able to tell a difference in the spa probably because I just swap in a new filter regularly and the spa chemicals are there to kill the bacteria/virus and the filter to clean out the "gunk". The filter appears to be a well made filter with sturdy looking plastic ending rings and a plastic "holey" grid backing the filter medium which itself appears to be decent quality upon visual inspection. It was simply packaged in a very thin plastic wrap (within the amazon box of course) which was fine by me as anything more is likely just a waste. At $26 it makes it a no brainer choice if you replace filters more frequently.

I purchased this filter replacement for our Nordic Hot Tub and am glad I did because I shopped around at my local hot tub and pool shops and they want the exact same filter for twice the cost, so buying this online at half the cost is a no brainer. It was a perfect fit and I really did not realize how badly I needed to replace my filter until I put this one in and my water became crystal clear in less than 24 hours! My old filter was coming up on a year of usage with several cleanings within that time period and it was a PRB25 which means it has 25 foot of filtering material and this one is a PRB50 which means it has 50 foot of filtering material. It will be interesting to see how easy it will be to clean because there are twice as many folds in it, but I don't think it will be a problem because I always let my filters soak for 15 minutes in Muriatic acid which does all the hard work for me and then 15 minutes in a baking soda solution to neutralize the acid. Followed up with a thorough rinse with a hose which works WAY better than any of those milder filter cleaning chemicals out there. So, time will tell on the cleaning of it and I will update this review if there should be any problems in that area. Overall if your on the fence about going with the PRB25 or the PRB50, in my opinion spend a few extra bucks for the extra filtering.
