The unforgettable fifth book in the Hunger Games series: Haymitch’s story. Feature film scheduled for November 2026. #1 USA Today Bestseller • #1 New York Times Bestseller • #1 Indie Bestseller • #1 Publishers Weekly Bestseller • A New York Times Editors’ Choice “A propulsive, brutal Hunger Games prequel is here. And it’s great.” The New York Times When you’ve been set up to lose everything you love, what is there left to fight for? As the day dawns on the fiftieth annual Hunger Games, fear grips the districts of Panem. This year, in honor of the Quarter Quell, twice as many tributes will be taken from their homes. Back in District 12, Haymitch Abernathy is trying not to think too hard about his chances. All he cares about is making it through the day and being with the girl he loves. When Haymitch’s name is called, he can feel all his dreams break. He’s torn from his family and his love, shuttled to the Capitol with the three other District 12 tributes: a young friend who’s nearly a sister to him, a compulsive oddsmaker, and the most stuck-up girl in town. As the Games begin, Haymitch understands he’s been set up to fail. But there’s something in him that wants to fight . . . and have that fight reverberate far beyond the deadly arena. The quality is great
Haven't read the book yet. But if you are looking at this review, you have very much read the previous books ( That is what I am assuming ) So you don't need to know that the book is amazing. Now for the quality, there was a tear on the harback. But I didn't mind it. So the condition can't exactly get 5⭐ but otherwise it was of great quality.

Even better than the trilogy
First of all, I know I’m late to the party—but honestly, I think I read this at the perfect time. Hats off to Suzanne Collins for making me feel all the feels. I wasn’t even past the first chapter and my heart was already breaking for Haymitch. The horror of what really happened in the Fiftieth Hunger Games—so different from the tape—and that moment when I realized the meaning behind the title? Absolutely devastating. The parallels between Haymitch and Katniss were almost too much to handle. This book broke me. I can’t remember the last time a book had me bawling like this. If you haven’t read it yet, do yourself a favor and pick it up ASAP. And if you weren’t planning to? You’re seriously missing out on life. Literally. Heart Wrenching Expansion & Background To Haymitch's Hunger Games
Book Review: Knowing how this story ends even before you start makes each line hit harder. It's hard to hold on to hope when you've prepared yourself for devestation. But this book showcases how even at the bleakest moments, perceptive have the ability to change. Bonds can be forged. Hope can ignite itself. Survival makes you hunger for more. While I enjoyed reading this, there were times I struggled with how repetitive some instances felt, especially when the world wasn't too different from what we encounter in Katniss' arc, unlike the stark difference in Snow's story. Even with the Easter eggs of characters and moments, I craved for more diversity to Haymitch and Katniss' situations. Somethings took getting used to because of this, but the actual time in the arena was terrifying and stressful. While some moments can feel similar, it's the horror of being in that situation that truly grips you. As much as I was prepared for a gut-wrenching sensation with each page, it still hurt watching events unfold. But like waiting for the sunrise after an eternity of darkness, it reinforced the feeling of fighting for change. And knowing that one day, freedom will be reclaimed. Amazon Delivery: Terrible delivery - the agent didn't even call when when they came and just threw it over my gate onto the wet floor. The package was torn and there were some tears to the cover.

A Heart-Wrenching and Immersive Return to Panem
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 📚E-BOOK📚 & 🎧AUDIO🎧 I picked up both the audiobook and Kindle version of Sunrise on the Reaping, and I absolutely loved it. If you know the Hunger Games series, you already know—this is no HEA story. And if you don’t, I highly recommend reading the original trilogy first. It’s so worth it! Suzanne Collins once again masterfully immerses us in a world ruled by a government with no humanity—where people are nothing more than pawns. Haymitch’s story is as tragic as it is compelling, and this book delivers in every way. I tried not to set my expectations too high, but wow... it delivered. The twists, the revelations, the way it enhances the original trilogy—it’s absolutely wild. One of my favorite aspects was the insane number of parallels between Haymitch and so many secondary characters from the first trilogy. It added so much depth and heartbreak to an already devastating story. I laughed, I cried (a lot), and I was completely absorbed from start to finish. And the quotes? Absolutely haunting. 💔 "Nobody ever wins the games. Period. There are survivors. There's no winners." 💔 "I know that every year for my birthday, I will get a new pair of tributes, one girl and one boy, to mentor to their deaths. Another sunrise on the reaping." This book is a brutal, emotional, and unforgettable addition to the Hunger Games universe. If you’re ready to dive back into Panem, prepare yourself—because this one hurts.

Delivered without a wrap
Fast delivery but book came without a plastic wrap. Stains visible over the cover and the side of the pages. However, pages content looks fine and serves its purpose.
