Brake is anemic.
I bought this bike because it is versatile, convertible from a pedal-less balance bike to one with pedals that does not have a coaster brake. Coaster brakes are terrible for kids learning to pedal and should be avoided with extreme prejudice. So, this fits that bill and overall it's OK and can be switched back and forth easily. The design is not great though and the lowest seat height is not as low as my older son's 16" bike, which is the Guardian Bikes 16" wheel size. It is likely that the seat is so bulky on this bike, so swapping it out with a better designed seat would probably fix that. On the other hand the brake is weird in a couple of ways, one it's totally inadequate for actually stopping the bike, even when adjusted to maximize braking power. Oddly enough, it's also mounted on the wrong side for a rear brake in the USA, the left side. In the USA the right hand controls the rear brake, but this bike has the brake mounted on the left side. I don't think I'd recommend it, and would probably suggest finding something else. I'd probably go with what I did for my older son again, buy a better bike that's well designed for kids and leave the pedals off so he could use that as a push bike and then later on put the pedals on for him to learn pedaling. I used the Guardian Bikes 16" the first time.

Great starter bike
My little one love the bike. And how they it has 3 stages to help progress is also great too.

Nice first "real" bike
Being mechanically inclined, taking the pedal crank assembly off to make this a bigger balance bike was quite easy even though the instructions don't outline- loosen the two nuts on the bottom of the crank, push this back toward the rear wheel in the bolt slots, then you can put a little side pressure on the chain with your finger and then crank a pedal to have the chain slip off the forward sprocket. Removal of the chain gets pretty self evident after that. The three year old took to this bike quickly as he has just nicely outgrown his first balance bike and juuuuusst barely fits tjis one at its lowest seat height, so this will work well for a few years we hope as he transitions to pedals/training wheels likely next summer. Very nice bike, seems to be well built with quality pieces.

The most amazing customer service ever. Bike is great as well
I purchased this used cause it was like half price to purchase the used one. When it arrived the frame was broke right thru the middle. Like completely broke. I emailed the seller and they issued me another free of cost and told me to keep the old for parts. So I have to say, for customer service alone. 5 stars. The bike itself is great. A little small I think for the ages stated but still workable. It’s great that it has so many options on how to use it. Balance bike, training wheels, standard pedal bike. Awesome. I recommend buying this for a younger age children though, ud get the most use out of this bike. If ur child is already older, well like I said the bike is kinda small. But it is super light so small children should have no problem coasting along on this thing. The seat and handlebars are adjustable. That’s a plus. Squeeze brakes on handlebar that’s another plus. I highly recommend this bike and at the price, u totally can’t go wrong.

Amazing bike, so versatile!
Love this bike for our 4 year old. We got it as a Christmas gift and he was over the moon. He had outgrown his previous balance bike so we needed something bigger. I loved that this one can be a balance bike, pedal bike and has the option of training wheels. He has gotten to learn a handbrake and kickstand since we bought it. I was so grateful it is convertible because I thought he would stick to balance bike a bit longer but he LOVES the pedals now. So happy with our purchase. Handwritten note included. so sweet.
