Good with or without kewpie
Surprisingly good. I saw them on a FB ad and wanted to try it. I havenโt added them to any stirfry yet but I am keeping the one packet I opened in cold water in the fridge. It helps to tame the saltiness. But yep little tiny crunch like masago

Really fun, easy to prepare
These are great. Really good with a little ponzu on them. The salt makes them shrink up a bit so Iโm on the look out for a sauce that doesnโt have that effect.

Now we know
Both of my teenaged daughters told me that these taste like blood and spit them out. They are used to eating a variety of food from different cultures and have well developed palates for their respective ages. They were impressed by the texture but appalled by the taste. 2/10. Do not recommend.

The more you soak, the less briney.
I'll start off by saying that I love seaweed and all things with that Briney flavor. I soaked these in a bowl of room temperature water and they puffed up nicely! I noticed that they didn't all rehydrate, so I dumped out the water and refilled the bowl. What I noticed is, the less salty the water, the more they rehydrate (so a firmer product)and they take on the flavor of what you soak them in. I topped them off with some tamari, and noticed that they started to shrink a little bit more than they did when they were in plain unsalted water. So I ate them quickly. Overall, a really fun, tasty experience, and I will be buying these regularly.

Acquired interesting taste
This was a very interesting and novel experience. I do love seaweed salad and fishy things, so I was interested in trying this out. I ate them on their own the first time and it was very interesting, I can't really describe it in words. It did have an unpleasant sea aftertaste, not the fishy kind like seaweed, but more like you drank seawater. I think it might be better hidden in salad or with a sauce.
