No, it will not stand alone. This is a stretchy cover for a 1/2 mannequin, it is not the mannequin itself.

Is this a slick/slippery material? I need to cover my mannequin as it is hard to dress and undress with smaller clothing

It is slippery. I purchased this because my dress form was velvet and it was very hard to dress. Once I got this one it was easy peasy!
