Finspan (Base Game)

Awesome!! Really great new strategy game for our family. It was easy to learn (I watched a YouTube video) and our kids love playing it (8 & 10 years old). Beautiful packaging and high quality game components.

Well crafted game. Easier to play than Wingspan, but I enjoy a bit more complex games, so I’ll stick with Wingspan, though I will play Finspan again.

This is an excellent game! I've loved the span games ever since wingspan. I was worried that after wyrmspan they were taking a step down. Let's be honest, a board game about fish sounds pretty lame after dealing with dragons. But this game does an excellent job of simplifying the wingspan experience. Wyrmspan made it more complicated, but finspan makes it more casual. The basic premise is the same as wingspan or wyrmspan. Three lanes you try to fill with different types of fish, but this game replaces the resource challenges with cards and eggs and fish. It makes for a much faster game. My favorite feature of the game is the fact that you can take back cards you discard. In wingspan and wyrmspan, once a card was discarded, it was gone forever. In this game you have the ability to take back cards you discard into your hand. If you are a fan of wingspan and wyrmspan, this game is for you. If you haven't played either of those games yet, this is a great way to get started.

We love this game. Gorgeous pictures with lots of super interesting fish facts and fish that we've never heard of before. Easy to learn and good family game or autonama ages 8+ with different strategies but fairly simple strategies. Gave as gift also. Plays similar to Wingspan but different enough to keep both in game libray

This is a good game if you’re new to board games. We were big fans of wingspan so decided to try out this one and it was a bit of a let down. However, the theme and artwork were beautifully done. Good game for beginners to looking to practice engine building mechanics.

Beautiful game. Got this for my husband for his birthday as we both love the ocean and its inhabitants. I was a little intimidated because the gameplay looked a lot like Arknova which is another cool game but just has so much going on. Finspan is a lot simpler and more straightforward which was a huge relief. The replayability is very high as we barely scratched the surface of the cards it came with in our first game with 4 players. It definitely makes you want to play again and see the other cards. There are multiple strategies with this game and as always, luck. I might be wrong but it seemed like the boring fish had some of the best perks so even if you don't get awesome looking fish, you may very well have the advantage. I would highly recommend this game to anyone that is a more serious about their board games as it's probably not great for kids.

I played this at my friends' houses and loved it so much that I bought this to play by myself. I tried purchasing from the Stonemaier website but their site was down which is why I bought it from Amazon.

What a fun game!! We love to play games that exercise your brain and this one fits the bill. The cards for this game are extremely well made and I’m sure will last for years and tons of play time which is so important. We loved the variability of this game. Each time we play it the results are different. It’s a new experience every time. Not only that but it’s fun to play with only two people which is not often the case. There is even an option to play solo which we haven’t tried. The box is great quality and everything fits in nicely. I would definitely recommend this game to anyone.

Stonemaier have made a great addition to the Span series of boardgames. Like it's predecessors, Finspan is a strategic, engine-building game where players will collect fish based cards to score maximum points 🐠🐟 The gameplay is easy-to-learn and the variety of different cards makes each round feel unique. I would highly recommend to those familiar with Wingspan/Wyrmspan and those new to the span series 😁👍
