High quality on a 'budget'
For the average person, this price tag for a set of plastic headphones may seem crazy. For anyone who has owned any Sennheiser product in the past, or even this particular set of headphones, you'll know that for the quality of this set, the price really is amazing. To get any better you'd be spending anywhere above £400, and headphones in the below £50 range will pale miserably in comparison. Build quality is excellent, my last pair lasted 7 years before they finally succumbed to damage (which was completely my fault). Audio quality is fantastic, though it does lack the brain shaking bass that some people will be looking for in particular. If you're looking for a new set of headphones to thoroughly enjoy your music collection, for mixing, or even for gaming, these will not disappoint. One word of warning, the cables that feed into the left ear piece are completely and easily replaceable, as are the pads on the top and ears, but the cable that feeds audio to the right ear is not. This will be the most common point of failure, but it takes considerable effort to damage it. Both earpieces have a large degree of rotation, and extend out to suit your head size. If you have this length set at the maximum and move that right earpiece as far as it will go, both left and right, you will run the risk of damaging this wire far more quickly than usual wear and tear. If you have to fold them up tight for travel, remember not to do so when the ears are at their fully extended distance. If you take care of this headset it will last for a very long time, well past the 2 year warranty. They endured 7 years of car rides, house moves, being dropped, tossed and twisted, but be sure to take care for that right earpiece. Keep that in mind and this set will keep you going through an apocalypse. (This review is for the mk1 version, the mk2 version as I understand it is almost identical besides the difference in foam headpiece. If anything else has changed, so will this review.)

Superb!
These headphones are primarily geared for studio work - the bass is tight and fast, midband rich, and treble very clear and precise. And - they'll go REALLY loud. The sound is as good as the recording (in other words, IF the recording is good, the sound will amaze you - but the headphones will not mask any imperfections of the recording!). I got them only yesterday, so can't comment on the durability - but they seem very solid - go ahead, drop them on the floor! I can say, however, that I found them comfortable even after several hours of non-stop listening. They also block the unwanted noise (including my noisy colleagues at work) very effectively. In short, a great buy - I am sure there are lighter and cheaper headphones out there, but I wouldn't bother - in my (rather extensive experience), this is a superb buy.

Absolute Workhorse
I first bought a pair of these in 2009... I replaced them in 2024 after 15 years of travel, abuse and heavy use (and the old ones still work fine, they're just gross). I use these primarily for tracking acoustic instruments and vocal parts because they have such low amounts of bleed-through, they are also cheap enough to not worry about getting dropped or damaged, however they are so well made that's not an issue. There are some changes from the originals, but that's all in the foam, the sound signature is very true to my old ones.

Good to a certain extent of Good.... Also comfortable... to a certain extent of Comfortable.
Sennheiser HD280pro Closed DJ/Monitor Headphone Right... Where to start? These headphone's Sounds Quality is good (They havnt broken in yet takes about 50-100h of listening according to other reviews). According to other people... and some friends they should only get better! Now... They are AMAZING for music with bass... clasical they are decent (they are NOT bad... they are decent dont take me wrong; I should know im a pianist). Now, as the title mentions, the are comfortable For a certain value of comfortable. Since they are closed headphones, they have a higher maximum limit on pressure on the head (open headphones are limited to 5N). These are at 6N... This is great for noise reduction apparently up to 32 dB. Since they are closed they are designed so that your ear fits inside the cans this is obviously less comfortable than some headphones but ... those more comfortable headphones are really bad for listening to during long periods... These are comfortable"ish" but dont get worse after long periods. The cable is coiled... so pretty heavy, therefore it WILL exert some pressure on the headphones and MP3 player if you carrying one... so it might eventually damage the socket (if you are careful this should not happen). But it is replaceable if you want it to be replaced... as are the ear and headband pads. It folds neatly in 3 ways (according to the manual but the first is a bit gimmicky). This is useful for travel. Overall these Cans have great sound quality... good comfort even over long periods (but not great) very robust and effordable for what they are. CAREFUL>... theres is an "HD 280-13" version which has impedance of 300 ohms... this may not be suitable for some portable devices. Check before you buy. Also... it comes with a screw-on addapter for amplifiers and such... Underneath it is a normal Ipod /MP3 type addaptor... ANyhows i really recommend this. the sound is great but my advice is to try out both these AND the HD 215... for mainly preference... sound wise these are better... but the HD 215 might be more comfortable for some people. tyvm for reading this!!

Absolutely Delighted!!!
I have only just open the box and am using them as I am writing this. Absolutely fantastic! Not often do you find such value for money. Thanks to all those who wrote the past reviews. Right on the button. Certainly not for bass freaks which suits me great. Powerful but not overbearing, superb sound definition. From Satriani's guitar nonsense to Miles Davis this sounds really wonderful. For those who can't go through life without moaning, it is indeed a bulky headset and the "telephone" style cord is thick and heavy and somewhat cumbersome. I would say that form first impressions it isn't a traveler's item. But who cares when the music sounds so good and the world around can't spoil your listening pleasure because it blocks outside noise so well? (Better than some so called noise canceling headsets) This is a great buy if you are looking for this particular type of headphones.

Sennheiser HD280pro Headphones
I bought these a while ago as a replacement for an old set. Primarily i was planning on using them when i was playing the drums so the -32db outside noise reduction was what really drew me to these in the first place. When i got them through, the first thing i did was to play a song through to see what they were like. After a couple of minuets I realised that a song i had been playing for years a certain way was actually played on a different cymbal! The sound quality is great and i had never picked that up on any other speakers or headphones. Having owned them for a while now I can say they are comfortable, the quality of the sound is great, you can replace parts (ear cups, cables ect...) and as a set of drumming headphones you can wear them for a long time and not have to worry about comfort or blasting the music to hear it over them drums. All in all, amazing set of headphones! Highly recommended.

Solid headphones with misconceptions about usage, build quality and features
Sound Quality was fine, acceptable bass and good accuracy. They are marketed as good DJ headphones as well as monitoring phones, they are not. Music sounds generally good but very flat and boring, not even close to being enough bass or warmth for proper music listening. The jack that attaches to your audio playback device is huge and very likely to bend and twist, therefore breaking the copper inside. The headphones cord is non detachable unless you want to buy a new specific to this model cable for £30. The default cord is gargantuan, thick and curled, so much that it almost tugs the left cup down on your head. I have a big head and the headphones were a little loose on their tightest setting for me. Others have said the exact opposite however. They provide decent comfort over long periods although the cushion material can get sweaty and i would have preferred it to be a little firmer. Word of warning, know what your getting into here. I wanted some solid headphones that wouldn't break, would provide accurate sound without being boring. Two of those things were wrong. These are specific headphones with a specific use, not for everyday enjoyment.

Excellent headphones
I've had these head phones for 3 years now and thought i'd do a small review. After using many different headphones in my studio, both mixing and recoding sound. I have to say these are the best pair of head phones i've used by far. The sound quality is amazing and the noise cancellation is just as impressive. I use them every day and have never had any problems with them. I even take them with me when i go away as no other headphones cut it for me now. They are a bit big but i love big headphones. They might be a bit out of peoples price range, but if you have the extra to spend on them you won't be disappointed, they are very durable and will be well worth money in my opinion.

If a smidge more punch of bass is your thing while giving you clear sound, here you go.
Thank you DankPods for your help. Your video may be 87 years old, but these things are a nice sounding, reasonably priced headphone if you want your music where the producer put it, with a little oomph on the bass. Two things you may not enjoy, so far, my apparently large head can feel a squeeze. It’s not terrible, just there and the corkscrew style cable. It feels like a split cable, but some don’t like the old telephone cord style. So anyways. Running this on my iPad and my PC. Doesn’t seem to need anything more powerful to put out solid sound. It comes with a thicker jack on the cable, whatever the description of the measurement is. 1/4? I don’t know. I forget. Never fear though, just unscrew it gently. Please just be an adult and gently unscrew it because you don’t need to go ham on the thing. It will unscrew and screw on easily, so just relax. They feel sturdy enough. You know, don’t go lobbing them across the room. They fold and swivel, and all that. It’s plastic, so not very heavy and aside from the squeeze that will probably break in over time, they are coo. No extra controls or anything on them. If you want to get a good idea of how they sound for you, take a song you love and know well and give that a whirl. If your system has a fine tuning EQ, adjust as needed. They sound good to me. I do not regret my purchase. I needed to move away from IEMs and tried some FiiO wood ones that were ok except for the price and the stank of them, and these feel comparable at well under half the price. The great part of nice headphones is just hearing songs you love in a more expansive way.

Superb Headphones for Audio Monitoring & General Playback.
After a lot of research & comparisons with Studio Monitoring Headphones in this league, both price wise & functionality wise, between the Audio Technica ATH-M20x or 30x (a popular & formidable product) & the Sony MDR7506 (classic & iconic studio headphones), what finally made the choice for me was a super discounted deal on amazon for these Sennheiser HD280 Pro headphones! At 6.5k, they are way more than a steal. First impression, right as you open the box packaging, is of a premium, well built & heavy duty pair of studio headphones. Box contains the headphones, which come with an attached output cord in a 3.5mm Jack with a 6.5mm adapter & a Safety Instruction guide, that’s it . . . No muss, No Fuss! The cord length provided is just perfect for my usage. These headphones are primarily going to be used for Video & Audio editing on a Macbook Pro, for 4K & Dolby Vision content, so the max distance is usually a standard desktop or office table setup, so the cord length is sufficient. Overall, build & touch n feel quality is off the charts, especially considering the price & the other options available in the same price/features segment. As soon as you pick up the headphones, you know you’ve picked up a premium brand. Finally, the sound quality, is by far the best I’ve experienced till date on any “over the ear”headphones, which were bought for personal use. The audio levels are crisp & clean, totally studio quality. The Noise Cancellation feature is highly effective & makes tuning out from the world, when editing a music video, a cakewalk. Despite looking like heavy duty headphones, these are fairly lightweight & haven’t caused any major issues after a few hours of usage. The cup size is nice & large enough to cover an entire average sized ear. The only caveat so far is the shape of the overhead band, which is way too wide, especially on a bald narrow head, so they may look a bit funny, but it is an extremely small nit-picky thing in what is otherwise an exceptionally fantastic piece of audio equipment. Although it is just the first day of use, the purpose & functionality of the headphones has been a 10/10 for the sound quality, on all audio trials & tests so far. Whether you’re looking for a pair of headphones for professional audio recording/mixing/engineering work or just to plug into your home device & hear crisp, clean & balanced sound, these HD280 PROs are absolutely perfect. Extremely impressed & happy with the purchase. Two Thumbs Up!

Kablo ağır
Her şey güzel ama kablosu sarmal olduğundan ağırlık yapıyor.
