The 32GB upgrade is non-negotiable and the Air just made the Pro irrelevant
I've been using the MacBook Air M4 15-inch with 32GB RAM as my daily driver for a few months now, and I'll say upfront: the jump from 16GB to 32GB was the best configuration decision I made. Performance & the 32GB difference With 16GB on the M-series chips, you start feeling memory pressure the moment you have a few browser tabs open alongside a dev environment or creative app. With 32GB, that pressure disappears. I regularly run VS Code with large projects, multiple browser windows, Slack, and various background tools simultaneously with no slowdowns, no thermal throttling, no fan noise (because there is no fan). The M4 chip handles everything with a composure that still surprises me. The 15-inch screen is the sweet spot Nobody talks about this enough but the 15-inch size is genuinely perfect. The 14-inch Pro feels cramped once you get used to it, and the 16-inch Pro is just too big and heavy to carry around comfortably. The 15-inch Air hits exactly the right balance between screen real estate and portability. You get a large, immersive display without the machine feeling like a burden in your bag. Apple nailed the sizing here. Build quality & display The build is exactly what you would expect from Apple at this price point, solid, thin, and premium. The Liquid Retina display is sharp and color-accurate enough for design work. If you are connecting to an external monitor, the DisplayPort output works flawlessly. Battery life This is where the Air genuinely earns its keep. Under moderate workloads I consistently get 12 to 15 hours. Even during heavier sessions it rarely drops below a full day of work. The MagSafe charging is fast and convenient. Minor cons worth knowing - Only two Thunderbolt ports is a compromise at this price, you will need a hub if you use peripherals - The base 256GB storage is too small for most serious users, configure up at purchase because you cannot upgrade later - The display is 60Hz, and yes I am someone who came from a MacBook Pro with a higher refresh rate. I have been buying MacBook Pros since 2015 and my last one was the M3 Pro. Technically the Air has a lower refresh rate but honestly? I did not notice a single difference in daily use. I only found out the Air was 60Hz when I saw someone mention it online. If you are coming from a high refresh rate machine, do not let this be a dealbreaker. In real life usage it simply does not matter. MacBook Air vs Pro, an honest take Here is something I did not expect to say: I am not sure who the MacBook Pro is for anymore. Unless you are doing sustained hour-long video exports or running local AI models at scale, the Air M4 handles virtually everything the average power user needs, silently, cooler, lighter, and at a lower price. I say this as someone who bought every MacBook Pro generation for the past decade. The Pro used to feel like the safe future-proof choice. Now the Air is that machine. The extra ports and ProMotion display on the Pro are nice but they are genuinely hard to justify when the Air does not break a sweat on 95% of real-world workloads. Bottom line: The MacBook Air M4 32GB 15-inch does not just compete with the Pro, for most people it makes it irrelevant. Best laptop on the market, full stop.

TOO MANY GREAT THINGS TO SAY!
Absolutely amazing and fully satisfied with the MacBook Air w/M4 chip. I don't even know what this thing is fully capable of, but it does everything I tell it to, literally with the push of a button. Also, it's fun to play with, work with, enjoy music, and so many other qualities. Got this thing for Christmas 2025 and have been so pleased, 4 months later am writing the review because this thing really is the real deal. Super cool midnight blue color, extremely long and relentless battery life, and has shown zero signs of wear and tear over the first four months. My typing speed has increased, work productivity, and overall technical knowledge of how to use a computer from basically just clicking around. (im pretty dumb with technology overall) I owe apple a debt of gratitude for making such a superior and stellar product. There must be someone in their talent acquisition department that is worth more than gold itself. Kudos, Apple- Great stuff!

MacBook Air M4 15-inch — (Build & Feel)
The MacBook Air M4 15-inch feels extremely premium and well-built. The aluminum body is solid, lightweight, and has no flex, so it feels durable and high quality in the hands. The finish looks clean and modern, and the laptop has that smooth, polished Apple design that stands out immediately. The screen is one of the best parts — the larger 15-inch display gives plenty of space for school work, editing, and multitasking. Everything looks sharp, bright, and comfortable to view for long periods. The keyboard feels crisp and responsive, and the trackpad is easily one of the best I’ve ever used — very smooth and accurate. The laptop is also completely silent since it has no fan, and it stays cool during normal everyday use. Overall, the MacBook Air M4 15-inch feels like a high-end machine that’s perfect for students, creators, and anyone who wants a fast, reliable laptop with excellent build quality and a beautiful display.

So good I had to buy two
I had the 13inch version placed it on my car top, forgot and drove off 😔. I lost $1,000 that day. Then I went ahead and bought another this time the 15inch version. This is the best computer for the money I would argue the 13inch is so portable you'll forget you have it as in my case 😭 so I decided to buy the 15inch next time and made amendments to my mindfulness. It's such a good computer I had to buy it again. The M4 chip makes this a beast. It 100% will run anything you throw at it; Unity, Blender, Davinci Resolve, Xcode, etc. I use it to run my business and it's a delight. It stays cool no overheating issues hardly ever gets warm and the battery life is phenomenal. The aluminum built is durable and premium—its a beautiful device. The screen as I mentioned in my other review on the 13inch version can be damaged by debris if you don't clean your keyboard and screen before closing because it's a tight space between the screen and the keyboard when close. MacOs is butter and I think Apple deserves greater market share in the computer space. This is truly a remarkable product. Coming from a developer, entrepreneur, spent all my life around a computer.

Lightweight, powerful, and beautiful
I’ve been a full-time Mac user at home since 1998 for personal and graphic design use, and I’ve been a full-time windows user since 2002 for work. Most of my home computers are Macs, though I do have one PC I use for gaming and tech-support. I bought this MacBook to replace an aging Windows laptop I had, and I’ve been tickled to death with it—the screen is plenty large, it’s got plenty of RAM for everything I run concurrently (Internet, email, Microsoft Office, RustDesk), it only weighs a couple of pounds, and it seems like the battery just lasts for days (I typically use it for 30 minutes to 3 hours at a time). I am so thankful they brought back the MagSafe charger, I haven’t had anyone kick the cable and disconnect it from my laptop yet, but I have several small grandchildren, and it’s nice to be prepared. The charging brick has two USB-C ports on it, so I can plug in a charging cable for my phone as well. The laptop has two USB-C ports as well as a 1/8 inch audio jack. I bought the model with the 15 inch screen, 24 GB of RAM, and 500 GB SSD. I think the only thing I don’t love about this laptop is the trackpad: it is nice and large, and has left and right click, but I just don’t like the feel of it, though to be honest, I don’t like the feel of trackpads in general – – I miss the track stick that was on my work-issued Lenovo laptop. The remedy is I just simply bought an inexpensive Bluetooth mouse and that works perfect, no extra dongles. I had been planning to buy a MacBook Pro, but since I don’t really do freelance anymore, I couldn’t justify the expense. It’s just as well, this laptop has all the power I need and more.

Best Laptop I ever used.
So I should preface this by saying, I am not an apple guy. I primarily use Windows on my desktop and I daily an Android phone. But, I love this laptop. It is fast, silent due to not having a fan, and just a joy to use. It did take a while to get adjusted to MacOS but within a day I was used to it. This is by far the best laptop I have ever used, The screen is great, the battery is quite large and even when doing web browsing all day it sips power. The lack of any USB-A ports is a little bit of a bummer, but I am okay with it. MagSafe is by far the best power connector ever, I remember using it on my old macbook when I was in high school and loved it. So, even if you are in the Windows and Android camps like I am, definitely think about getting a macbook, cause there are still apps out there that let your android phone talk to MacOS like KDE Connect for example. Great job Apple. Ya sold me on this.

My Best Purchase EVER!
Apple 2025 MacBook Air 15 inch laptop. Incredible Price, and incredible laptop. Easy set up, and seriously, opening this laptop was like Christmas Morning. Such a great laptop to own. Everything I do with this is so easy, and the size is perfect. I hope it lasts forever because I cant find any flaws, or anything ELSE that is needed with this laptop. Apple did it right! A YES for my home.

The BEST Computer I've Ever Purchased. Hands Down. No Question.
There isn't much that I can say about this other than this is the best computer purchase I've ever made. I'm an IT Security Project Manager and run a Remote IT and home-based Curriculum and Teaching company with my wife and the M4 MacBook Air is an absolute beast of machine. It's light, incredibly powerful, and the battery life on this is beyond compare. I haven't had it on a charger since yesterday, and I'm at 74% after a day and half's use. The sound on the 15'' is fantastic. I love how well this MacBook integrates in with the rest of my Apple environment and data and media transfers between all my devices seemlessly. One thing that people don't talk about very often is the ability to screen mirror from my iPhone to my Mac AND the ability to use an iPad as a secondary screen. Again - absolutely the best computer purchase I've ever made.

Best laptop I've owned in 20 years.
2025 MacBook Air 15" with the M4 chip has been the perfect combination of weight, power, and price — especially for a graphics-heavy interior design workload. It’s light enough to carry all day without thinking about it, yet powerful enough to run design software, photo editing, large presentations, and Apple Intelligence features without hesitation. The 16GB unified memory keeps everything smooth, even with multiple creative apps open, and the larger 15-inch display gives just the right amount of screen real estate for layout work, mood boards, or CAD previews. Battery life is outstanding, the machine stays cool, and performance feels nearly on par with far more expensive pro-level laptops. If you’re a designer who needs portability without sacrificing capability — and you want a price that doesn’t jump into MacBook Pro territory — this is an exceptional sweet spot.

Game changer!
Best laptop I ever had. I bought this for video editing, our home PC, despite being a gaming pc was struggling with the intensity of rendering videos, I was resigned to having to spend $3-4k on a high end machine. I was wrong! The MacBook Air M4 has been a game changer and can handle anything I can throw at it with absolute ease. The HD is small, which is my only negative but it works seamlessly with my 2TB iCloud Drive so it's not been an issue. Absolutely love it. For the price, it's by far the best laptop you can get for the price outperforming laptops 2 or 3 times the cost.
