We purchased this family pack of walkie talkies for a recent family cruise, and they ended up being one of the most useful items we brought along. With multiple family members—especially the ones who love to wander off and explore—it made staying connected so much easier and gave us peace of mind knowing we could quickly check in with each other without relying on Wi-Fi or expensive cruise messaging apps. The sound quality was excellent—crystal clear with no static during most of our trip—and communication was simple and reliable. Battery life was also impressive; they held a charge really well throughout the day, which was important since we were constantly on the go and didn’t want to worry about recharging them. They also feel very durable and well-made, like they can handle plenty of travel and family adventures for years to come. For the price, this was an incredible value, and they’ve officially become a must-pack item for every cruise we take from now on. The only issue we ran into was when part of our family was on Deck 1 while the rest were up on the Lido deck. Apparently they were trying to reach us several times, but the calls never came through on our end. I assume the multiple ship decks and steel walls may have interfered with the signal. Thankfully, that was the only time we experienced any trouble, and overall performance was excellent. Overall, I’d highly recommend these for cruises, theme parks, camping, or any family trip where staying connected matters. They made coordinating a large group much easier and were absolutely worth the purchase.

The Retevis RT22 Two Way Radio Twin Pack has been an absolute hit in our neighborhood! I originally got these to keep track of my kids when they play outside, and they have far exceeded expectations in terms of range and performance. These are incredibly easy to use—truly push-to-talk simplicity, which is perfect for children. The rechargeable batteries are a huge plus; they hold a charge for a long time, meaning less hassle with disposable AAs. They are also lightweight and durable enough to survive being dropped on pavement, which is a common occurrence around here. Now for the fun part: the long range is excellent. My kids can easily talk to their friends three houses down, across the street, or even when playing in the local cul-de-sac. This has facilitated an epic level of inter-neighborhood coordination, which is exactly what I wanted! However, a quick note to other parents: they are so clear and easy to operate that you will be constantly hearing updates about tree forts and scavenger hunts, leading to a delightful, low-level buzz of static excitement around your home. Consider them a fun upgrade to neighborhood play—just don't expect much peace and quiet during the summer! This is my second time buying these. The first set is still working but my kids lost two of them. My son and daughter take them when they go to their friends house or go around the neighborhood. The range is excellent. Even around houses and hills in our neighborhood I can communicate with them at least a mile away. One of the walkies that was lost was apparently left in a friend’s back yard for a month or two in various weather (snow, rain, heat...). When it was found and returned, I cleaned it up, took the battery out and made sure everything was dry, then charged it and it works just fine. Another feature that I really like about these are how simple they are. I’ve had other walkies with extra unnecessary buttons and features. These have a single knob for power/volume, a talk button, and up and down buttons to change channels from 1-16.

We used it for inter-car communication, and I did some simple experiments in a highway. With no clear sight of the other radio, such as hilly-valley condition, regardless of distance, it would not work. With clear sight, we are able to have decent signals (ok sounds, not cut voices) with distance between 0.5 - 1 miles. If the battery is low, you would expect shorter distance to even get any connections. Battery life is around 12-24 hrs of intermittent usage, so you may need to charge it daily. Considering the price, ~ $10/radio, I think it is a pretty decent buy. Overall rating is 4.5/5.

Excellent radios, clear and durable.

We used these on the ICON of the Seas. The largest cruise ship at sea, and found that they worked ALL over. They even worked if our kids were in the cabin and we were out on the top deck. They were small, the battery lasted forever, and they charged quickly.

These are the best especially when you work in the caregiving field as a medaide and especially if you want your own so you don't have to barrow perfect and also just in case you need backups

Was a nice fit for the trip during visiting islands. There was not a moment to lose sight. The signal was able to break through up to 10 floors in the ship's iron walls. charged it at night and never had an issue. will keep using it for future trips. communication was effective and clear. Programming was easy and not displaying would hide it from other 's views.

Todo funciona muy bien. Lo utilicé para un viaje con mi familia y podíamos comunicarnos entre autos a una distancia aproximada de 1.5 km o 2 como máximo y en lugares donde no haya mucha interferencia. Se escuchan bien, la batería dura sin problema y son pequeños. Lo recomiendo totalmente.

Tienen buen alcance, los usamos estando en vários vehículos en carretera y dió buena trasmisión y recepción.
