I’m excited to have access to so many cards I haven’t before! I did see a couple of people upset because the “max dice” aren’t included, so I thought I’d let you know that this is actually a stand alone game to a collectible card/dice game. A previous game lowered the max number of dice to reflect the stand alone nature but it really nerfed the cards for general game play. I personally, am relieved that they don’t have the max dice because I already have a ton of duplicate dice. As for the game itself, there’s some dup cards I got from the booster packs but the art is different and cool. (Wonder Woman’s stats should be higher but I usually use Wonder Woman from a later set that fixes that!) in my opinion it could use a couple more lower cost cards (I like having a few more 2 and 3 cost cards than there are here). But they have really awesome black sidekick dice I’m looking forward to using since all of mine are white! You can play with the reduced number of dice, but I enjoy the booster packs anyway.

Admittedly, Dice Masters is a bit of a niche game, and probably not seeing a lot of new players come to it. But if you are unfamiliar with this game, it's worth a try. ANY of these campaign boxes contain all you need to play the game. DM is a 2-player game. Think of it like dice building, instead of deck building. If you like to roll dice, this will definitely hit the spot.This set specifically is a great set. It includes black sidekick dice - most sets have white dice for these. It also has a number of strong cards. This doesn't mean as much to a new player - and that's ok, but if you enjoy the game, you might decide you want more sets.The game is essentially played by choosing 8 cards as your team (per person) and choosing 2 Basic Action cards (again, per person). So each of you, choose 10 cards to play with. You are then supposed to also choose the number of dice you want to use per card - the box contains 3 for some cards and 2 for other cards. Many cards have a limitation of 4 as the maximum number of dice you could use in building your team, but since in practice, the limit is 20 among the 8 cards you choose (the Basic Action Cards automatically use 3 dice each and aren't counted in the 20 dice limit), this means on average a person would use about 2.5 dice per card, thus, some cards with 2 dice and some with 3. Those decisions get more into strategy, but I figured it might be helpful to explain a little of the game.Beyond that, each person starts with 8 sidekick dice and a dice bag, and on your turn, you draw and roll 4 dice. Then there are ways to earn ("prep") more dice to draw on future turns and so on.The game is played with 20 life per opponent and as you attack each other, eventually you will take life points away from your opponent. The first to lose all 20 life points, loses.I won't attend a link here - but there are a number of great videos out there to teach the game, as well as an incredible support site called dice coalition - which has scanned copies of each card and is sortable by sets so that you could actually review every card in a set like this, to better help you decide if it contains characters you'd like to play.I hope this has helped you as you think about this game. I've always wanted to complete my Dice Masters Collection since I started playing it when it first came out (March 2014). Just catching up and this is one of my favorite sets! I love the customization of the dice, the card art (they take the art straight from the comics) Some are hit and miss but the majority look amazing! This is a full set and I like that since I don't have to send any extra money on finding Super Rare cards that are over powered. Plus, some of the abilities in this deck are very good to use and can be just as powerful if combined and used correctly! Overall GREAT GAME!

Purchased as a gift for a family member.

I was so excited that I got this game as a gift, until I opened the box. It's missing half the dice needed to play the game yet all of the content is there. Each hero has a max set of dice for the card but Only half the dice. So in order to actually play the game as intended I would need to order the entire game again and throw half of it away. Such a waste. If I was able to send it back I would. I'm very disappointed.
