Patek Philippe: Complicated Wrist Watches (German and English and French Edition)

This book presents an anonymous Italian collector's extremely focused collection of complicated Patek Philippe wristwatches. Production values are exemplary. Marvelously consistent and detailed photographs detail the collection, grouped according to genre. The informative multilingual introduction is relatively brief, but it's the watches to follow that form the bulk of this enterprise, appropriately. I just loved this book!

Complication is the upmost level in watchmaking and Patek Philipe is the upmost swiss watchmaker. These two things meet in this beautiful album. The history of Patek Philipe complicated watches from 20s up to 80s represented by gorgeous photos. Every watch is represented by dial, movement and case back pictures. The book may serve both as a nice reading and as a collector's book. Excellent print. The only minus is the lack of detailed movements information (ref. number provided for every watch).

全ページオールカラーで、パテックフィリップ社の1997年までの足跡と、贅沢に１本のwristwatchに対して1ページの大写し写真を掲載しています。掲載作品のムーブメントは重複しているのでそれぞれすべてを紹介しているわけではありませんが、複雑系のそれは1839年以来続くこの会社が作るすごい職人技の芸術品だと認識させてくれます。掲載されているwristwatchはすべて世界のオークションで最高値を常にマークするビンテージものばかりで、1923～1981年までのwristwatchばかりを載せていますが、40～50年代のクロノグラフが中心です。その中でもパーペチュアルカレンダー付クロノグラフは必見ですね。また、デュアルタイムカラトラバもなかなかお目にかかれないモデルです。これらの解説は英・独・仏語表記で機能説明のほかに、パテックファンの皆様方のためでしょうか、リファレンスナンバーはもとより、ケースナンバー、ムーブメントナンバーも併記されております。この本は時計本来のすばらしさについての理解を極めた時計ファンには必見で、かなりお買い得間違いなしの本ですよ。

Nette Beschreibung der schönen Uhren von Patek Philippe. Leider nur eine Darstellung mit Bildern ohne fachliche Auskunft über eine Reparatur usw..Aber eine hübsch gemachte Werbung.

Excellent book. Well worth having.

Pas d'histoire de la marque , même succincte . Pas de vision globale de leur production , mais des reproductions , certes excellentes et de très grande taille , de la collection d'un riche particulier , des années 20 aux années 50 , en gros . Lacune stupéfiante : les diamètres des montres ne sont pas donnés !! Or , les montres de cette époque , justement , étaient beaucoup plus petites que nos montres actuelles . Donc , si trouvable à petit prix , achetable seulement pour compléter la connaissance de Patek et constater l'étonnante continuité stylistique de la manufacture , des années 30 à nos jours ... De toute façon , il n'y a aucune synthèse récente qui soit disponible à prix raisonnable , actuellement , même en anglais ( en français , ne rêvons pas ! ) Par un singulier mimétisme , les livres vraiment complets sur Patek sont à l'image des montres : hors de prix ! Montres de luxe = livres de luxe ...

Belle compilation de modèles anciens mais les descriptions sont insuffisantes, notamment pour orienter une recherche en vue d'un achat. En effet, Ni la taille des boîtiers, ni même la mention "mouvement automatique" ou "à remontage manuel" ne figurent.
