Inverter
Bought this to use in our caravan when 240v isn't available, on a recent trip to the south west we stayed overnight at Gloucester services, no 240v so we tried the inverter for the first time. So we actually powered our TV for seven and a half hours charged two phones and had internal lights on at the same time, so the inverter gave an audible alarm telling us that the incoming voltage had dropped off to 10.5V . So the following morning due to solar charging and good weather our leasure battery was back up to 13V, so for us this is a game changer we've only used it once but would recommend it to anyone.

Can convert 12v dc to 240 ac using a solar panel and leisure battery .
Works well in my allotment greenhouse coupled with a solar panel and 12volt leisure battery .

seems to work well
I ordered this to use primarily for running my powertool 240v battery chargers from the lighter socket of my van. There is little more inconvenient than running out of charged batteries while not having access to mains voltage when on a job, so I figured that getting an inverter would be a solution to this problem. For the most part it seems to be working well so far. My 18v charger requires 240W of power to operate so this inverter is plenty powerful enough to run several at the same time. At 1500W it has enough oomph to power several of my corded powertools so I can use sanders and small circular saws with it although I have to be careful to keep an eye on heat build up and melting cables (which hasn't happened). The unit does get a bit warm and the internal fan switches on and off to cool things down. The time taken to charge a battery seems the same as when you plug into the mains so presumably the power output is the same with both. The unit itself is made from red aluminium so it certainly looks the part. It is quite compact at 270mm x 100mm x 60mm and surprisingly light . The simple controls on the case is a single on/off rocker switch on the front of the case; there are 2 240v socketsand four USB A ones along with a couple of cigarette lighter ones. Its powered by connecting the input terminals toa bttery via the crocodile clips and wires or cigarette lighter adaptor both of which are supplied. At around ยฃ40 the unit is on par with the general spread of prices for comparable inverters; this is my first experience with one so I cannot say how it might compare to similar devices but for my occasional use purposes it seems pretty good so far.

Item listing misleading. States that the item is 'Pure Sine wave' when if fact is 'Modified Sine Wave'
