Good filters with unfortunate design flaws
There is not a lot of information about these filters and I could only find limited written reviews. Smallrig has always impressed me for it's value so I decided to try these instead of the Freewell M2 series (around £100 more). I decided 82mm was too big for most of my lenses, and 67mm would suit me better atm - which ruled out the superior Freewell V2 system. In tests these filters produce great looking pictures, the magnets work well, and everything came nicely packaged and presented. Very easy to use. Unfortunately this system has 2 large negatives that may mean I need to return it: 1) The ND filter is larger than 67mm and this stops you being able to use your lens hood... One of the reasons I got a 67mm filter (matching my lens) was to continue being able to use the hood with filters. This is a design failure as it removes a benefit of getting the correct size filter for your lens. Strange decision with no benefit and a major downside. 2) A secondary affect of this decision is the included lens cap does not fit the ND filter... 🤦♂️ This is a laughable decision. The ND filter goes on top of the other filters, so it's the one that needs a cap the most! The cap doesn't fit it at all. Really poor design, and quite a let down as you've sold it as having a cap that it doesn't have at all. I've had to use my lens cap instead, which sort of fits, but not in a way that makes me confident. Smallrig should have made it the same size or included 2. Overall it's a shame because the kit is good value for money and looks great, but these 2 flaws are quite odd and make the filters more difficult to use than they should be. I will now consider alternatives that do not have these problems.

Functional but not always practical
Generally I find SMALLRIG are a very well thought through company and their products reflect good design. I would say that this ecosystem of phone gear is good but not great. the VND works well for video and photos but it can't be paired very easily with the polariser or mist filters because the VND 'locks' into the mounting ring on the camera. Although everything is magnetic and sticks together, when it doesn't have the locking system the VND doesn't work easily. at the extreme end of the VND you will notice some fringing too! for the price of the kit, I wouldn't say it's the best option but if you're into SMALLRIG then you'll probably buy it anyway! like me!

Neat package but with serious flaws
PROS: - includes VND, CPL, mist filter, cap, adapter, carry case, and polishing cloth in one set. - magnet design makes swapping filters quick and easy. - build quality. - carry case fits larger filters (82mm thread NISI filter fits in no problem). - good image quality (doesn't colour the image too much) - mist filter produces a very strong blooming effect on highlights (this is a purely stylistic preference). CONS: - cap doesn't fit on the VND. You can put the cap over the CPL or the mist filter but not the VND (silly design choice). The VND is much larger than the other two. - The system isn't stackable. The VND doesn't lock into place if it's not the first filter. You can still place it over the CPL or mist filter but it will spin independently making it difficult to change VND stops with one hand. The CPL and mist filter don't fit over the VND. - Price (considering the system is only available in 67mm and doesn't fully stack).

I bought a new iPhone 17 Pro and so I needed different Smallrig attachments. I love the Smallrig iPhone and camera accessories.

The Magnetic Lens Cover only worked with the smaller lenses, not with the ND filter. This is a bit frustrating, since the ND filter is the one I use most often. I also couldn’t find any place where SmallRig sells a Magnetic Lens Cover that fits the larger lens. The only alternative I’ve been able to find is the Urth 72mm Magnetic Lens Cap.

Overall nice quality, magnets work really good, ND filter does the job, but bear in mind if you shoot with an iphone (17pro is mine) that 5 stops might not be enough for bright sunny day, if you want to shoot video with 180 degree shutter. On 1/50 shutter and the lowest ISO and it can be still 1 stop overexposed, because the blend is fixed and it stuck on 1.8f the only solution i guess is to make the shutter 1/100 and shoot 50fps or for this scenario just break the 180 degree rule. ALSO one annoying fact, the included lens cap does not fit the VND filter, for the VND filter you need a 72mm cap which SMALLRIG does not provide, it only comes with 67mm cap that fits the mist filter and the PL filter...no idea why :))
