These stones seem capable of keeping a drink cold. I have found that adding about 1/2 of an ice cube along with the stones is what is needed to get the temperature down in the first place. This works well for whiskeys that need a little water to bring up their best. One could also keep the beverage in the refrigerator to start with. Then the ice cube would not be needed.

These are the first "whiskey stones" I've really liked-- each stainless steel is filled with some sort of non-toxic gel that holds the cold even longer than the steel (or ice) would. [Since the gel never touches the drink, its toxicity doesn't worry me much. Some of the stuff I drank back in my youth was reasonably toxic,anyway.] The product comes as a small tray with eight stainless steel "ice cubes" and a pair of metal tongs, for handling them (Photo #1). The whole tray can be slid into your freezer-- the company, Aerb, says three hours before use, but I just leave them there (Photo #2). I didn't really appreciate 'ice tongs' before-- if you pick up an ice cube with damp fingers, it's no big deal. If you pick up one of these, it'll adhere (painfully) to your finger tips. There is probably an easier way to learn this-- such as reading it in this review-- than the method I chose. The tongs, incidentally, work by grabbing either the corners of the cubes or the flat edges-- after experimenting, I find the corners easier (Photo #3). I've found that a whiskey glass best uses two or three cubes (Photo #4, with water instead of whiskey for visibility's sake), and the larger the glass, the more cubes you need. This seems obvious, but I've learned that stating the obvious rarely hurts. Equally-- and far more importantly-- obvious: do not do as many do with ice cubes, and try to suck on one. It's way too cold, and the pain you'll cause yourself (or an unsupervised child might cause himself) should not be experienced. I'm going to give these five stars, as the only negative to these was my wife's complaint-- she likes crunching ice cubes with her teeth, and these would result in her crunching her teeth with ice cubes. Not cool. Cold, but not cool. Recommended. [I was sent these for the purpose of evaluation and honest review.]

These are Stainless Steel Chilling Cubes by Kollea In other words...reusable ice cubes!! I've gotta say that the world has come up with a lot of things over time but I never thought I would live to see reusable ice cubes... There is probably someone alive who didn't think they would live to see someone make millions off of bottling water either. SO....reusable ice cubes. I am on the fence about these.... You see, I don't drink often..if ever but when I do, I really need my drink ICE cold. While these things have the potential to slightly cool down your drink, making it ICE cold doesn't really seem like these cube's forte. Now, I will disclose that I did not entirely use them for their intended purpose as in the description is DOES say that they are for whiskey and I did not use them in whiskey but instead, I used them in a nice glass of Dr. Pepper. Why? Well as I said, I am not a drinker and I do believe that if you are going to make something that could potentially "chill" a drink, it should be able to, indeed, "chill" any drink. The outcome? Well, it did "chill" it...unfortunately I have a hard time drinking anything except coffee or hot chocolate without it being a couple degrees about freezing so this didn't really work the magic for me. On the other hand, I do know that some people prefer that their whiskey not be as cold as the surface of Pluto so I do believe these would work in that instance. Another thing that I personally didn't care for was the fact that it didn't take the cubes long to go from freezing cold to room temperature..so I can see why it really wouldn't make anything ice cold... The good things about this? Well for one, it comes with its very own carrying case complete with 6 cubes and a pair of tongs to handle the cubes if they are just a little too cold or if you don't want germs in your glass. The whole set is nice a sturdy and well made so I will say that the price tag us probably right where it should be as many other sets like this are around the same price so I believe that's pretty fair. Oh and by the way...ladies. If you ever needed something to help close up your pores after a facial, these work great!! My final say?? Well...as I said, I am on the fence about this one. I really think this a readers decision. Would I personally buy them? Probably not. The plain old ice cubes work better, I don't have to wash them afterwards, and it gets the drink about 100 times colder than these do. HOWEVER, I do believe that if you are a whiskey drinker, these might be perfect for you. It chills down the drink enough and it obviously doesn't water down the drink so these may just be the thing you were looking for all along!!

Works good for people who don't want a watered down drink.

Cold scotch in Crystal glass, ice even clinks!

Pretty color, but coldness doesn't seem to make whiskey cold enough for me or stay cold. The case doesn't stay shut well and i've spilled cubes couple times when lid popped off. Good for the price though.

We bought these for our boss’ birthday. He can be a difficult man with particular interests and requests but these seemed like a great value for the money. We appreciated their design and quality.

Very happy with the product. Having a case to hold them in the freezer as well means they don't get easily scratched. Little tongs mean you don't have to handle them after you e washed them and popped them into the plastic case. Delivery time was adequate.

What I likes: - Fast shipping It only takes less than a week to arrive. A+++++ - Premium stainless steel The material quality is premium. It’s a little surprise when I touched these cube. I used to scare of these cubes because of its quality but I’m totally happy with these items. Give me a luxury feeling. A+++++ - Freezing I put these cubes into a fridge and it’s only taking around 1 hour to be ready. A+++++. What I dislikes - Price I wish I can have more ice cubes with a cheaper price :-(. But you get what you pay. Overall: A+++++

Very clever product. Sometimes you don't want ice in your beverage and this does the trick. I didn't know I needed it until I got it & I would recommend it definitely.
