Nearly perfect espresso machine, well worth the money
As a longtime customer of De Longhi, I have seen tremendous improvement in their machines. I was very happy with my last purchase a couple of years ago but unfortunately my little grandson broke the dial while playing with it, so I bought this new model for a lot more money (don't worry, there are no dials to break). This is by far the best machine for its price on the market, and in fact it is very near to perfection. Read the (admittedly somewhat complicated) instructions carefully and especially don't neglect to remove the red plastic cord on the bottom of the water reservoir. Once you have set it up and primed it properly it is very easy to use, just plug it in and press the button to start and the button for the number of cups you want (I prefer2, with that filter already installed) and it works automatically. Make sure the espresso is filled and tamped properly--invest in a separate tool for punching little holes in the espresso (really helps) and the heavy metal tamper, since the plastic one is not very efficient. If done properly the result is a perfect shot every time, with at least 1/2 inch of crema and no, or nearly no, residue in the cup. I prefer using the Capuccino size glasses rather than small cups, and also because you can add another shot or two to the glass if desired (see instructions). However, the crema lasts longer in an espresso cup, if that is important for you. Some have complained about water leaking but perhaps they did not remove the red cord from the bottom of the water reservoir; anyway, I have found no water leaking after constant use for over two weaks. Also, the pressure dial has no numbers on it because you don't need them, it works automatically, perfectly every time and there is no need to do anything. Just enjoy this lovely gem!

Best value for your money. Get it!
I had been eyeing some of the pricier espresso machines, but what kept me from purchasing one was the size of the bigger ones. They didn't fit in my space. I watched many reviews and after many searches, this is the one I settled on. I am so glad to have made the right choice. This machine is a dream! If it broke tomorrow, I'd purchase a new one. Super easy to use, well made, looks beautiful and impressive, has a much larger water tank than other machines I've owned in the past, so you're not constantly filling it up, and it doesn't have extra unnecessary buttons or a fake pressure gauge. Each button has a function. I use soy milk or other plant milks and it works amazingly well. I can feel the milk pitcher heat up in my hand within seconds. The frother has two settings, one for heating milk and when pulled down, for frothing. It makes it easy to control how hot or cold you want your cappuccino or latte to be. Super easy and perfect temperature milk each time. Along with my Lavazza Super Crema Whole Bean Coffee, Medium Espresso, I have not had a bad cup of coffee since. I stopped going out for coffee, what I have at home is much better than what I can get at the best coffee shops. It's worth every penny.

Smooth, Easy-to-Use Espresso That Tastes 90%+ Like a Café
I’ve been using the De’Longhi Classic Espresso Machine for about two weeks now, and I’m genuinely very happy with it. The biggest highlight for me is how easy and smooth it is to use. The filter/portafilter locks in effortlessly — unlike my previous Breville, which was so tight that it sometimes felt like two people were needed to secure it properly. From day one, this machine was very intuitive. I mainly use it for espresso (haven’t tried the milk frother yet), and it’s been consistently delivering great results. Once I adjusted the grind size to match my taste, the espresso started tasting 90% or better like what I get at my favorite coffee bar — and that’s using the same dark roast beans they use. It’s impressively close to café quality for a home machine. I also like how easy it is to adjust the volume for single or double shots. I increased mine slightly from the default single cup, and now it’s perfect for my preference. Overall, the ease of use, smooth operation, and quality of espresso make this a fantastic choice. I originally bought a Breville but had to return it due to a defect and found it difficult to use, so I switched to this De’Longhi — and I’m glad I did. Simple, reliable, and very satisfying. Love Italy. Highly recommended! 🇮🇹☕

This is my fourth attempt at getting an expresso maker that works properly
This is my 5th expresso maker I've returned in the last month. The reason I've returned everyone but one, which didn't work at all, was because they did not produce water at a temperature of 195 degrees F to 205 degrees F which is the optimal temperature for coffee extraction. I've done all the "preheating" suggestions. I've been drinking expresso for decades and I not what produces a good cup and what produces an inferior cup. The temperature of the water coming from the machine temps at between 164 degrees F an 178 degrees F, which is close to 25 degrees below recommended levels, which is totally unacceptable. As with all the other inferior expresso machines I've tried, I measure the water temperature coming directly from the machine, no portafilter or coffee grounds. Measuring the coffee temperatures with the coffee grounds you get a temperature of about 148 degrees F, which is basically lukewarm water, much of the coffee isn't extracted. Then I add half a shot of Irish cream which lowers the temperature even further. So, in desperation and utter frustration I decided to purchase a machine that offered temperature control. I saw this machine advertised temperature control and purchased it only to find the only temperature control it offers is suggestions to preheat the filter and coffee cup prior to extraction. There is no specific setting on the machine that adjusts temperature. IMO this is blatant false advertising. another pet peeve I have is none of these portafilters offer any way to keep the filter in when dumping grounds, which results in the filter continually falling out. Years ago i had a $59 expresso machine that had a small "latch" on the portafilter that would hold the filter and stop the need for one to hold the filter with one's thumb when dumping grounds. It also produced water at the optimum temp. and if I could find it again I' purchase it in a heartbeat instead of these expensive machines that don't work correctly. My advice to all of you who purchase a machine, make sure to check the temperature of the water coming directly from the machine because I feel it is a conspiracy among these expresso machine manufacturers, for whatever ridiculous reason, to provide the water from the machine at the less than optimum temperature which would provide you with the best cup of expresso or coffee or whatever. Will leet everyone know when I discover a machine that works the way it's supposed to.

Total Expresso Newbie
I picked up the De’Longhi espresso machine during Black Friday as a total newbie, and I’m thrilled with my purchase. The price was excellent, and the reviews convinced me to give it a try. Before using it, I watched a few tutorial videos, looked through the recipes, and read the manual—definitely worth the time. For my first test, I used Lavazza Espresso Barista Gran Crema whole beans, ground on the finest setting. After rinsing and filling the water tank with distilled water (no leaks at all!), I ran the portafilter with the single-shot puck just to warm everything up. Then I switched to the double basket, stirred the grounds, tamped them, and locked the portafilter into place—it fit perfectly. When I started the shot, the espresso began pouring instantly with a beautiful CO₂ crema. Watching that rich, velvety expresso was so satisfying! Even the steamer performed like a gem, producing great results on the first try. Honestly, I didn’t expect my very first cup to turn out well… but it did. I have since made perfect expresso every day. This machine is truly perfect for beginners. It makes delicious espresso, looks great on the counter, and takes up no more space than a standard drip coffee maker. I’m delighted to own it and excited to keep learning the art of espresso. Highly recommended! ☕

Good for the price
An honest review: we’ve had the delonghi classic espresso machine with milk frother fur 6 months now. We bought it 30% off on Black Friday. This was our first purchased espresso machine and we enjoyed doing research and learning! This machine I think has been a great starter machine. My only complaint….you have to be strategic when you need to make more than one cup in a row. Once you switch from brewing espresso to steaming milk you can’t go back to brewing espresso. It takes at least 10 minutes to reset at that point! So I’ll brew both espressos then steam both milks if that makes sense. I think it’s good for the price point…but if you are needing to brew many cups in a row it might be a deal breaker. The only other thing is how quickly it needed descaled (within 2 months). It still operates with the descaled light on through so it won’t stop the process

This entry-level De’Longhi espresso machine is absolutely wonderful.
I only recently started exploring espresso at home. Before this, I bought another beginner machine from Amazon, but it was so disappointing that I ended up returning it. I realized that going with a reliable brand really makes a huge difference, and this De’Longhi machine proved that. The interface is simple and beginner-friendly, so it’s very easy to get the hang of. The adjustable steam wand is also incredibly convenient. After frothing milk, I can twist it off and clean the inside directly—it feels much easier and more hygienic than traditional steam wands. The portafilter fits perfectly with all my 51 mm accessories I purchased earlier, which was a big relief. My previous non-brand espresso machine had a water tank that constantly leaked, but the De’Longhi’s water tank is completely leak-free, so I can use it with confidence. I make two cups of coffee every morning back-to-back, and the machine handles it without overheating. Overall, it’s an excellent entry-level espresso maker—reliable, easy to use, and a huge upgrade from cheaper alternatives.

Love this machine!
Absolutely love this espresso machine! It is easy to set up (but make sure follow the instructions exactly as they are written in the manual) and delivers consistent espresso shots every single time. It was a great value for the money, I am beyond happy with this purchase!

Issues After Only 4 Months & Poor Customer Support
I’m very disappointed with this machine after only 4 months of use. It no longer pushes water through the basket properly and seems to struggle under pressure, which causes the coffee to taste burnt. Support suggested it might be a scaling issue, so I purchased the official De'Longhi descaling solution and carefully followed the full descaling process, but it made no difference. Unfortunately, support has offered very little help beyond that suggestion. I’ve also tried using less coffee, skipping tamping, and thoroughly cleaning all components, yet the machine still doesn’t function the way it used to. It’s frustrating to experience these issues so soon, especially since my previous espresso machine (different brand) lasted for years before having any problems. I expected much better reliability and customer support from a machine this new.
