Miffy & The New Baby

Not just about life with baby
Not a lot of info about how Nijntje deals with the baby. It’s cute, but I found other books more helpful for my toddler.

Great Book
Darling story and drawings. My granddaughter can't get enough of this book.

"Baby bunny's here at last!"
Very simple, clear little images which any child (or adult) would love. The story is told in rhyme, the style of which put me much in mind of Rupert Bear books:' "Hurray!" cries Miffy, dancing around."You've made me very happy!"For they had said there soon would beA little baby bunny.'Slightly contrived word placement at timesThe story is of Miffy being told the good news and making some gifts before the long-awaited arrival.Cute book and ideal for expectant parents to give to their small child in preparation!

We love the Miffy series
We love the Miffy series, so thought this would be great to get our 2.5 year old son ready for a new sibling. But this just isn't a good book for that. It doesn't focus on the baby or pregnancy at all--most of the content is about Miffy making art projects, and the big finale is Miffy getting to bring cakes to schools to share with her friends when the baby is born. It doesn't address the relationship between Miffy and the baby at all. Plus, the last thing I need is my toddler asking why I haven't made cake for his class the day I bring a newborn home from the hospital. Highly recommend the series overall, but this book is a dud.

Good book
My three year old daughter loves the Miffy books so when my wife and I saw this we thought it would help her with the prospect of being a big sister. The book has help up well considering when it was written so i'm pleased with it.

Lost in Translation?
Love Miffy as a cute picture and this theme was a perfect one but the rhymes are truly dreadful. Presume it works better in Dick Bruna's native tongue?

Childrens' classic.
Some of the translations into english are 'clunky' and do not rhyme in Australian, American or British english..... otherwise a fabulous childrens' classic.
