3k AMOLED monitor looks and works great!
Important Info: Monitor image and fps quality is great, it works great as a second monitor for watching videos, doing work, and personally, it helps me get a better look at my 3D animation hobby stuff in Blender! Rest of Review: I was blown away not only by the quality of the monitor, but the customer service. Humongous shoutout to Emma on the MAGEX team, she has been a truly wonderful person to talk to, attentive, and thoroughly follows through in a timely manner. The monitor itself is extremely light, and I am afraid to grab the screen or handle it too roughly, because the screen is so thin, and the casing is made of aluminum. The stand works great, it feels super sturdy, and always stays at the same angle you set it too. Since the casing is straight aluminum without any cushioning on it, be careful how fast you set the monitor down, it feels like it could dent or scratch something on your table. The 3k AMOLED image quality and fps are great, zero complaints there, but you need to use two USB-C cables in conjunction to get the full 3k and max fps (the provided hdmi cable only ever gave me 1920x1080). It seems like one cable provides signal but not much power, and having a second cable actually allows for the screen to be powered. I have two type C ports on my laptop, so I just plug both cables into the monitor, and my laptop, and it works just fine! (I haven’t tried hdmi + usb-c though, so maybe that pairing couple get the 3k to work as well.) The box includes two thick and sturdy USB-C cables, and an hdmi to a smaller hdmi looking plug. All wires plug into the right side of the monitor. The user manual doesn’t really tell you that if your computer doesn’t provide enough power, the screen won’t power on, and that the hdmi cable doesn’t necessarily give you the full 3k image (only 1920x1080), but it’s fine because I figured out the USB-C cables work better. All in all, I would give the product a solid 8-9/10 in terms of price, usability, image quality, fps, and reliability! The customer service gets an 11/10 though! Details on the pictures: First one is what the screen looks like in Blender, second photo top to bottom is of the power/volume/brightness/menu button, third is of the pixel density (this is supposed to show that it’s quite good), and fourth and last photo is of the power/signal ports. The top grey/black USB-c cord is the one they give you two of. The cord is actually super sturdy, albeit a bit thick and bulky, but I like how durable it feels and has been so far!

Superb portable USB-C display with excellent colors, 120hz and built-in speakers!
I've been anxiously expecting this portable display and today it finally arrived! I got a little disappointed, not from the item but actually from myself being sometimes unexpected with my movements - I've been sitting on my sofa and got zapped from static electrical discharge when connecting the USB-C cable, and did an unexpected movement with my hand which accidently knocked the monitor off the table and onto the hard floor, causing it to get 2 bumps at its back, one at one of the top corners of the monitor and another at the bottom corner of the kick-stand. The aluminum got squashed on these points, but thankfully the monitor itself remained intact. I attached pictures of the bumps so you could see for yourself the aluminum quality. So that's that with my self clumsiness, but it adds an unintended durability test to this review. I think that since this monitor is light-weighted that it actually helped it to survive the fall. But anyway, to the point of this review: I was looking for a decent portable monitor to go with my Mac mini M2 Pro, which supports 120hz output. I saw a few good ones on sale, but decided to go with this particular one, mainly because its inner corners are NOT rounded, which for me if they were then it was a deal breaker - I just don't find it right in terms of design that round corners hide essential screen content, like your mouse pointer itself when you hover at the very corners of your screen. So I'm very glad that this display has the traditional inner sharp corners, which would let you see the entire image of both PC and Mac, and also other game consoles. I've attached pictures of each corner so you could see that they're not rounded but sharp. You get 1 mini HDMI to HDMI cable, and 2 USB-C thunderbolt cables which can delivery both power and signal. In addition, you get a 100-240v power adapter (with US plug) in case your machine can't provide enough juice to power this monitor up with a single USB-C cable, in which you'd connect to the device one USB-C or HDMI cable for the signal, and the second USB-C cable to the wall outlet with the power adapter. This monitor also has built-in speakers, which are quite nice and sound much better than the built-in speaker on the Mac mini - make sure to turn them all the way up from main menu to fully enjoy them. This monitor has a glossy screen, hence its colors are vibrant and the picture quality looks nice and sharp - couldn't be happier. Though (EDIT), note that when you first hook it up that it comes set in an ECO mode that makes the brightness to only about 50%, and even if you turn it all the way up to 100%, it will get back to 50% once you turn it off and on again or if your machine gets back on from sleep. So if full brightness is essential for you and also to fully enjoy the picture quality that this display provides (especially on a non-laptop setup like mine where battery isn't an issue), make sure to first set the ECO mode to STANDARD (see picture), and then to turn the brightness all the way up to 100%. You'd be amazed by how bright and vibrant the colors get (see 'KEEP IN MIND' section for important details below). I attached another picture of it showing Mac OS Sequoia sunrise (woods) screensaver, taken from below to prevent any reflection interruption. But honestly, this monitor looks much better in person. On Mac OS the default resolution you get when hooking it up is 1440x900, but you can change it to the max of 2880x1800 if you wish; I just find it too small and think that 1440x900 is the best resolution for Mac OS on this monitor. KEEP IN MIND: I found that the monitor didn't get enough power from my Mac mini M2 Pro when I set it to STANDARD ECO mode, and it got disconnected just by opening browser tabs, which required me to disconnect and reconnect the USB-C cable to get a signal again; connecting it to the power outlet with the provided power adapter and the additional USB-C cable solved this issue. Bottom line, I'd definitely recommend this item to anyone who's looking for a portable display for a single-cable-setup. It's light-weight, the picture quality is excellent, and you get 120hz refresh rate which is a standard nowadays. I've ordered another one as a backup and to use it as a second monitor, should the first one fail on me one day due to the fall and be out of stock. The only down side I noticed now, which is a nitpick, is that all of the ports are on one side, and so putting 2 of these side by side will have a gap for the cable connections. There are varies U shaped adapters online that you can use to reduce this gap, and it also makes a cleaner look on the desk. Hope you find this review helpful.

WOW! MacBook Pro 16" OLED that Apple should have made
WOW! I was pleasantly surprise how nice this 16" OLED portable monitor is. The build quality is pretty damn good. The aluminum construction feels nice and makes for a super thin profile. The glass screen is very reflective but the black levels are amazing. I brought this to use as my main display for my damage MacBook Pro 16" display. This fits perfectly in front of the MacBook Pro and you can still use the MacBook's webcam. I did not give this a full 5-start because I have to use a lower resolution for the default settings without the icons/text too small to see. The default resolution is 1440x900 where the fonts doesn't look as crisp. The OSD to control the monitor setting is pretty easy to understand. Too bad it can't be controlled from the Apple's menu. This does drain the battery more than my cheaper portable LCD display. Overall, I would recommend this display for anyone who want a beautiful OLED screen with an aluminum build body/kickstand.

Great image quaility and nice size
I have limited desk space, and my primary monitor is a high resolution 34in monitor. I bought this as a high quality secondary ,monitor to fit in the space I have. I am please with the packaging and the quality of the unit. It feels sturdy and not at all plasticky like some other portable monitors. It has a high DPI and almost matches a MacBook Pro 16 screen; In fact the difference isn't enough to notice. With the coupon, this fit my needs perfectly. I've mounted it to a desk stand using the Vesa 75x75 mount points. Screws aren't included, so be sure to order som M4x6s if you don't have any. There are a few quirks: - To get full brightness, you need to take it out of low power mode in the OSD menu. - The cables it ships with are fine, but via USB-C it would lose connection and power after a minute or less to my Mac Studio M4 Max. I swapped to an Apple branded Thunderbolt 3 that I had laying around, and issue solved. The cables and power adapter it came with will just be extras for me, though it's nice they included them. Be aware you'll likely have to use both USB-C ports for picture and power if you don't have an extra Thunderbolt cable. - The aforementioned OSD menu works well enough, but is a bit finicky. It is nice that brightness can be changed without entering the full menu. - The sound / speakers are subpar. They're not even worth having on the unit, and in fact I'd rather hear nothing, then the tiny, tinny sound that emits from them. - It is VERY glossy, which could be fine for you, but I've ordered a 16:10 Matt protector to reduce the glare. Overall, it was a great value for the money, especially with the available coupon. I'd recommend this monitor to others that need a high quality image on a smaller monitor.

Forget this!!! Won't last
Monitor died a few months in. Purchased this in July 2025 and now in January 2026 the monitor is dead. Dead pixels were also present from day one...Image quality was OK but the quality control is terrible. Of course, now I am stuck with a non working monitor...What a stupid dead :(

Buy it.
Its a lot thinner and lighter than I thought, tho I wish they'd say it does need a mini HDMI in their descriptions, unless I just didn't see it or they added that information way later, but it's still fine because you can use a USB type C cable and itll still work literally just the same. I like the feel of it, very nice and sturdy, doesnt feel like smth cheap you just bought. For Oled standars, this is Very nice to use and I'd say it should be a bit cheaper, but that's just me. The sound part really isn't that good because it's quite thin, so I recommend you use some other form of speakers. Apart from that the only major complaint I have from it is its settings and how if your computer switches resolution (like the AMD software that does upscaling) I really dislike how the brightness and volume of the thing keeps resettin, so I just try to keep it with the movie preset since those seem to bypass that reset it keeps doing. This thing was 100% made mote for portability than anything else.

High Quality OLED for under $300
This monitor has been absolutely fantastic as a secondary display for entertainment. What I didn't expect was for it to be so fantastic for gaming, too. The resolution and color depth are amazing, especially compared to the 1080p IPS display I was primarily using before. That paired with the plug and play functionality makes it ideal if you're looking for an OLED display under $300. Plus, it only took a few minutes to mlunt it to my VESA mount and position it exactly the way I wanted it. My only complaint is that I needed to get a cable that was either Displayport or HDMi to USB-C, as I wanted video from my GPU and to get the most benefit out of the display, but I was able to find one online easily enough. Easy to move, easy to set up, easy to power, and amazing to look at. For this price, you likely won't find much better in an OLED.

Wow, my risk paid off!
I use this for my broken Macbook pro 14 with M1 pro chip. Screen fix would cost me $750 according to Apple shop, so I invested less than 1/10 and I am pretty happy. It is clear, bright, and feels like the macbook screen. Light, and stands well in front of the original screen. Just one cable is needed though it came with two. Usb C to Usb C. It consumes battery - yes, battery feels like drains twice as fast, but it is ok, I use it mostly on my desktop. Considering the price, this is a steal, and hopefully it lasts long (I used only a few days so far)

Actually pretty great. Updated
The screen is nice but NOT amoled. I did extensive testing on it. The HDR is better left untouched in OFF as it doesnt make thing better in anyway. It has nice contrast, however its mot 10bit its 8bit + FRC. Which is fine but I hate false advertising. This is an ok monitor for what it is which is not Oled. But Uperfect is the better option. It has false advertising which makes me never want to but from them again. --- Updated Review – Genuine MageX OLED Monitor (EM160) 2 stars to 5 stars I want to clarify that my original review was not of an authentic MageX product. That earlier unit did not meet expectations because it wasn’t actually from MageX. After reaching out, MageX kindly sent me a genuine EM160 OLED monitor directly, and the difference is very clear. This real MageX OLED panel performs exactly to their specifications: Display Quality: The OLED screen is vibrant, with deep blacks, excellent contrast, and accurate colors. It’s ideal for game design, media editing, and content creation where reliable visuals are essential. Sharpness & Resolution: Text and images look crisp, and detail comes through cleanly. No ghosting or weird artifacts. Brightness & Viewing Angles: The monitor holds up well even in brighter rooms, and the wide viewing angles mean the picture stays consistent no matter how it’s tilted. Build Quality: Solid, slim, and portable without feeling flimsy. The design feels premium and well thought out. Ease of Use: Plug-and-play setup worked flawlessly with my devices, no hassle with connections. Overall, the genuine MageX EM160 delivers exactly what’s advertised and is a reliable portable OLED monitor. If you’re looking for a true OLED experience for both work and entertainment, this model lives up to expectations.
