First, I was introduced to carbon-plated running shoes not long after the Nike Vapor Fly series came out. I found the shoe to be very helpful in improving my time as it had done for Klipchoge and other elite marathon runners. Research shows this type of shoe has had substantial impact on marathon times dropping for elite runners over the past 5+ years. Essentially, they allow a runner to be more efficient in his/her stride. For the past 35 years, I've run with ASICS shoes about 90% of the time and, eventually, I saw that they had a couple of different carbon-plated shoes, one of which is the Metaspeed Sky Paris. I have owned and run in this pair for ten months and have run one marathon along with some 10Ks and long training runs. In addition, I recently purchased a pair of Hoka Mach X2 carbon plate shoes for training purposes, too, as a comparison. So, to the point here, the Metaspeed Sky Paris is SO much more comfortable than either the Nike or Hoka carbon-plated offerings. Provides great push off and striking and exceptionally comfortable during a run. They also cause the least post-race pain recovery compared to the other two. Everyone is different, but I find the Nikes and Hokas to be hard on my lower back post race. They are similarly built in the sense that the base of the shoe is quite hard to accommodate the carbon plate and foam compared to the ASICS which is softer but still provides firm support. If you are an avid runner and don't have an issue like over-pronating, I'd highly recommend these for both comfort and taking time off your races. ASICS also has a Metaspeed Edge carbon-plated shoe. It has a slightly flatter feel to it. Try those on, too, to see if you'd prefer them. The point here is that these shoes are exceptionally lightweight, offer great push off when you're running and cause very little residual pain after a fast and/or lengthy run.

Marathon training shoes, these shoes I enjoyed to be honest I did have to return but just for a correct size. Once I received the correct size they worked amazing comfort, well build, and a good value for a training shoe
