Excellent quality
The quality of this rack is amazing. Its heavy duty aluminum, precisely machined to fit well together, all hardware is cadmium plated and every nut is a lock nut. They didn't cut any corners on this. It's very light but strong and adjusts to fit almost any pickup.

It will break.
I bought this product six months ago. To start the thing makes horrible noise down the road which isn’t great. Under assembly the bars that run from the front to the back their holes didn’t line up because the cuts weren’t even. Here’s the big one, all four welds on the top of the vertical supports have or are failing. One completely broke through. They have this product rates at 800lbs maybe, MAYBE I had 500lbs on it for about five miles. The rest of the time i use it to carry 1-3 ladders 200lbs max. For it to completely fail in six months with use well below its rated capacity is completely unacceptable especially since this is one of the more expensive racks on amazon. I called the company and the woman that I talked to on the phone was rather short and just kept telling me to talk to Amazon talk to Amazon because I bought it directly from Amazon not understanding that it’s not about just returning the item is a warranty issue and a quality issue that wanna talk to the company. So Amazon refunded most of my money minus a $75 restocking fee what they’re going to restock I’m not sure since the thing is completely failed and no good to anyone. So now I’m waiting for a callback from the company to get that $75 from them because this thing is junk. In the meantime I have to disassemble this thing and pack it up and ship it back to Amazon. The worst thing is that the cracks were so hard to see that I didn’t notice them. It only drew my attention when I noticed the ladders moving in my rear view one day and I check to see if they were loose and the whole rack swayed back and forth. Imagine what would have happened if that would have fell off on the highway. Lastly the little plastic caps on the ends fall out so glue them on before you throw this thing in the garbage.

Good product, great quality

Well made and people are jealous, but low quality control (i.e. sharp edges that can cut you).
The sharp edges - I went over the sharp edges with a file and blunted them quickly and with little effort, although this should have been done from the factory. July, 2019 - almost a year later and this ladder rack is still in perfect condition. It's definitely built tough. It doesn't wobble or bend and nothing moves at all when it is properly tied down. The only noise I ever hear are the feet or dogs bouncing when I go over bumps. I don't hear ANY whistling as others have complained about. I used to have a Ford Expedition that I'd put a ladder on top and the air passing the openings at the ends of the rungs would whistle, but that was the ladder. I didn't have this ladder rack back then. I wonder if this is the whistling people are referring to? Well built, and silent! People in other reviews complained about noise, but I've had mine on my truck for about 3-4 months now and I haven't noticed any noise at all. I guess it could be related to the type of truck and the way the air passes around the truck and rack? One person said they had noise but it was the channel under the horizontal bars, and he simply put a piece of tape across it and the noise was gone. I've had multiple people ask about this rack. They loved this rack and wanted it, even though it wasn't the cheapest thing you can find. I'm quite happy with the rack myself. The reason I gave this 4 stars instead of 5 is they could have put something over the horizontal bars like a tough plastic so ladders would be easier to slide back and forth. The rack is aluminum and my ladders are aluminum and they tend to want to grip a bit instead of simply sliding like my ladder did on my other rack on my previous SUV. Another reason I gave this 4 stars is the edges were left sharp after they were cut. I used to work in a sheet metal shop and there was a tool that looks like the knife sharpeners that have two washer shaped sharpeners on them. It would take someone 2-3 minutes to run this tool over the sharp edges and blunt them a little, and it would make a big difference. My daughter cut her foot and hand on these walking over them and trying to hand me parts while I was assembling the rack, and I cut my hand. These cuts were all superficial, but could have easily been much worse. The next day I had to take a file to these pieces before putting this on the truck.

Missing pieces- inadequate description
Screws were missing from the form box upon delivery. Had to screw it some elements of the racks contrary to advertising.

The welds don’t hold at all. It’s made very cheap! don’t put No weight on it!
It was made cheaply, I didn’t even have 200lbs on it and the welds broke.. driving down the highway. It may not be all of them. But the one I received broke within 6 months. It’s still out back if you would like to replace it. I’ll send a good review if you want to.
