is this sand suitable for a discus tank and how much would i need for 240 litres

I used 25kg to cover the base of my 300 litre aquarium. Base measurements 114cm x 45cm. I initially planned it as a Discus aquarium. I also used 5kg of Tropica substrate underneath as it a heavily planted tank. I think you will find 25kg to be just the right amount. It's very clean sand.

Does this sand need a good wash before use in a tropical tank or is it prewashed and good out the bag ?

I used this sand for sand filter for my swimming pool, I back washed and water wasn’t that dirty, for a fish tank I would wash the sand

Excellent value for money.

Excellent product. We have had it for over two years. It is still working fine and very easy to use and maintain. It filters water to high standard: the water is clean and translucid in our above ground pool. The water is light and even after an hour long swim, the skin is never irritated as the filter uses salt to naturally produce chlorine. It is ex ellent value for money.

Perfect for any sand filter. Came a day earlier then predicted. Box will be heavy so be prepared. Didn't need a full bag for the bestway filter so I have some spare for a few years time
