Bring on Bert Weedon, play in a day.
Not bad quality for a kit. Bought it as I was bored out my skull and at a loose end, assembles well, pretty simple. Took it to pieces again and sprayed it dark blue, looks professional.

Excellent kit, shame about the customer care.
Firstly, I want to say that the build quality and the build experience was exceptional. Had the neck pick up worked this review would have had 5 stars, without question. However, the neck pick up does not work. What I wanted was a replacement pick up, after all the guitar was built, stained, oiled, and beautiful. What I was told was that the only option was to return that built guitar in return for another kit. That is rediculous, the pick up would cost pennies to replace, and I would not have to build another guitar. As it is I have had to buy a new pick up. Rediculous, the thing is of course that the new pick up will upgrade the guitar. I would have replaced the pick ups in a couple of years anyway, just not happy with the seller's response.

Amazing kit at a great price
Arrived SUPER fast, and was very much as it was advertised. I really can't believe that they can put a quality guitar kit together for a little more than it would cost me to just buy the wood. Yes, the body is made up of three pieces of miss matched mahogany so a natural finish is out of the question. This guitar body is paint grade ready when it arrives. The neck is great, the frets are in very well. There are no gaps between the bottom of the fret and the neck, and they are well dressed. I did have to file a couple of frets down, so just a minor fret level job. Everything works great, but I will be changing out the pickups for a much higher quality pair. There is nothing wrong with the stock ones but they are a little shrill for my taste. All in all this is a GREAT kit at AMAZING price.

Great Value Kit for any first time builder.
First off this is a kit and will require some time and patience to produce a useable and gig-worthy instrument. Out of the box, the components all fit nicely together and the instruction book is helpful and thorough for a first-time builder. The body and neck are sanded well but require a final sanding before a finish is applied. I found the neck to be straight and there were no sharp frett ends and the nut was cut adequately. No special tools are required, #2 Philips head screwdriver, fallen keys (provided), a small coping saw with a fine-cut wood blade, and an adjustable spanner wrench (crescent wrench). The body and headstock come predrilled and the cavities are routed correctly. No soldering is required, the controls are prewired and all you need to do is run the connectors and bridge ground through their tunnels and connect them. The tuners and bridge are useableI highly recommend fully assembling the guitar and testing it before doing any finishing work as it will make any needed corrections easier to fix and avoid having to do finish repairs or if it needs to be returned. Once this is done disassemble the guitar and finish as you like, I recommend a simple stain or rub-on oil finish after a very thorough sanding of the body and headstock. Reassemble and follow the instructions for getting the guitar set up correctly as this will make all the difference in the playability of the guitar. One note, the template for the headstock shape is not scaled correctly and should not be used. The pickups sound surprisingly good. They also look to be wax potted, but I chose to rewax them myself though. The controls work as they should and are scratchy. The tuners work and hold tune adequately but I would recommend replacing them with a better set from the start. Use the included strings to set up the guitar then replace them, that's about all they are good for. Buy a good set of Earnie Ball, D'Ardiio, GHs etc. whenyou order this kit.If you have ever wanted to try and build your own guitar I highly recommend this kit. You can easily build and finish it in a day without too much trouble. Just take your time and do each step of your build with patience and you will end up with something to be proud of.

Good quality. Better than the price. some issues but not bad.
Nice kit, fun to put together. easy to piece together. My only issue is that I had to buy neck shims and shim the neck to get the action to be playable. After a little tinkering I was able to get it. plays nice. The tuning pegs are kinda cheap so you may wanna buy new ones. they stay in tune, but there is issue with the feel quality. nice quality wood. pretty and feels good. I plan to go over it with a super high grit sand paper and a finish oil.

great quality- poor playability due to a very important issue with nut slot heights
good quality mahogany body and maple neck. basically well made BUTOnly issue i had was the nut slots are very highdoes not tune properly in lower frets due to excessive string travel.I was going to lower the bottom of the nut but could not remove due to excessive glue usageonly options pay a luthier to do the nut filing set up (expensive) or buy a set of nut files and do it myself (also expensive) Thus a reasonably priced kit adds considerable cost to render the instrument playable.I purchased as a project gift with my grandson. I would buy again when this issue is addressed. The fret edges, leveling and body finishing are very good. The sound is decent for entry level pups. Its too bad that a very important step was not performed that ADVERSELY affects playability
