Works, but way too many fines for a granulated lime at this price level; makes for dusty application
It's OK in terms of effectiveness, but unimpressive in terms of application vs. the Sta-Green product. By this I mean that when applied with a good broadcast spreader (like my Scott's Commercial), it leaves a lot of di\ust because the granulation of the product was poorly controlled and the fines were not screened out, as they should have been. There is no excuse for this at this price level for a premium lime product when the similarly-performing generic products sell for 1/3 to 1/6 the cost. The Sta-Green product does not do this and it costs the same or much less.I would not buy this again.

20% magnesium carbonate - not calcitic lime!
It's "lime". However, why doesn't any seller state clearly (and truthfully) what kind of lime it is? Some answer in the questions claims it is calcitic lime (high in calcium, low in magnesium). Wrong! This is derived from dolomitic lime (says on label, see photo), although 66.2% calcium carbonate and 20% magnesium carbonate put it into a somewhat near-calcitic corner of the dolomite limes that I have been sold. Perhaps a compromise lime for those who don't know what they need? For all those who have compacted, clay-rich soil: keep looking elsewhere. (In elements, it is 24% calcium, 6% magnesium.)

Waiting on lawn results but it killed the moss!
I bought because, well first I heard lime was good for NE state lawns, I own a female 80lb german shepherd and she’s destroying my lawn even with diluting her urine, and I saw moss in shady areas in the lawn, especially where she pees and also by my hose where it gets almost no sunlight.. I applied 30lbs to about 1700 sqft...however I blanketed the moss patch and the areas my dog has been destroying. Put down before rain..and now 6 days later, the moss on the side of my house is dead. I had read some reviews that I’d need moss killer to get rid of the moss, but figured I would try an overdose of lime first, and it worked like a charm. My front lawn does look greener after the rain, but not sure if this product can make a difference so quickly Regardless I will buy more for moss killing and for the section of my yard that gets destroyed yearly. i have a handheld spreader and this lime is a bit too much for it to handle, A drop spreader is probably the way to go.

NOT FOR DROP SPREADERS it seems
I tried to use this with my Scotts drop spreader at the recommended 4.5 setting. Nothing seemed to come through and there was great resistance to pushing the spreader forward. I examined a sample on a white background and found a range from tiny particle to bebe size (or greater) very hard pellets (which could damage my spreader). Although Pennington says for all spreaders, drop spreaders need a setting for a given same granule size -- and opening up enough to allow the largest granules through will likely dump way too dealers much lime and damage my lawn. I called the 800 number and found there was no understanding of this issue. I also called 2 local Agway dealers who immediately said to use broadcast spreaders only for exactly the reason I defined in this comment.

Will Update After Soil Test
So, I won't really know how well this worked until I do a soil test in August. Applied early May with this bag, last application was in September or October. I used the same size bag both times on my not very large lawn (takes less than 15 minutes to mow with a push 21 inch mower, probably closer to 10 minutes). The bag says it treats up to 5,000 square feet, which doesn't really help me much. My soil test last August told me I needed to add a certain amount of lime, but that was standard lime, not this condensed version. Pennington says "1 bag = 3 regular bags," but that still doesn't tell me anything. Three bags of what size? How many pounds? Hopefully I didn't over do it, time will tell. My lawn is most likely less than 2,000 square feet in total, and it didn't seem excessive to apply just over half the bag.

TOP QUALITY LIME
A great nutrient to add to the lawn. Some of the store bought lime is course and does not feed well through my drop spreader. This product is fine and distributes easily and evenly. The grass looks good and the pH is 7.0, right where it should be. I highly recommend the product.

Works great in coop, garden & lawn.
Oregon Coast where we get a lot of wind, rain and moisture. Most brands just wash or blow away in the wind. This one seems to stay where I put it better and works in to neutralize manure type odors and improve the soil significantly. I will be purchasing more of this asap.
