I do not understand some of the reviews. I have used this product, in this color since 2019, I absolutely love it, and the results, i do have mostly gray hair, and when first applied, it is a really dark vibrant blue, i like it best when it has faded some after a month, i get nothing but compliments. It leaves my hair shiny, bright and fully saturated, i have thick, course hair, that is just below my shoulders, I use the full color and head application each time, not just the roots, and have never had any issues, It fades, like all color, you should NOT wash your hair daily if you want to keep hair color in and fresh. unless you want to color every 3 weeks.

Unfortunately I failed to take a photo strictly for hair color purposes, but I shall remedy soon. If applied correctly, it would seem an anomaly that this color could leave no results. even w/o developer, this would stain. In my teens, I had a blast with color; tormenting all my girl & boy friends. I modeled for different things but working with Sebastián was it for me. I wanted to be a color specialist. so to do that I had to get my license. And by that time new doors opened and I got into one of the best salons in Orange County. For more than ten year now I've been dealing with such relentless difficulties that I've nearly given up. I just can not take any more. But right now, just reviewing this hair color, I'm thinking of all that I have accomplished by myself, (and the love of my father). I'd forgotten just how great my life experiences have been, how much joy I shared with some really amazing people. I can honestly say that Many of the best times in my life I owe to a single bottle of hair color. But its trippy that "hair color" just may have saved my life. And I'm not going to change this review, because there is one thing in my life that I am sure of. Sure, because it has remained a constant, always. even in my struggles My words help me heal, and when i speak them, they reach others who need to hear them too. I believe we are all connected. When i first used this color, i used 6 colors in all. I hand wove each of them in. second time just three, then two now im going to use just this one over a med red that has remnants of highlights in front.

I tried this twice, thinking the fact it did not last the first time might have been an error on may part. But even the second time, when I let it process for 20 minutes longer than the directions say, it faded faster than semi-permanent products. It also looks a lot more purple in most indoor light.

I love this color. I got to the point that my hair was about 50% white, which looked pretty dramatic with my black natural color - major salt & pepper! But I'm not ready to have white hair. I use this straight out of the box - no pre-bleaching whatsoever. The result is exactly what I want: intense blue with multidimensional color. The naturally white hair is screaming metallic blue. 😱 The black hair is a deeper shade, but there's NO question that I have blue hair! I took this picture 24 days after I colored it last. (I usually do my hair every 5-7 weeks.) This is in natural daylight - no other lights at all. You can see that my part is showing new growth already, but my color is definitely not faded in the least! I get compliments on my color literally *every* day. 😁 It's a definite mood booster!

Thank you. *** very easy to use *** smells great, does not have an obxnious chemical smell *** Dyes your hair quickly *** worked very well to dye my hair even over non metallic brand splat ombre pink/violet ( I had that color at the top of my hair) and this brand and shade blue metallic at the bottom (the last picture shows how the color my hair was before it faded out to a gray washed out version of it hence gave me the desire to dye it this time all one color) I decided to color my entire head all in the same shade and it covered very well. } Even though it washes out a bit each time you wash it, I love that you can work in the yard or house and work up a sweat and the dye stays on your hair unlike other hair dyes where when you sweat it runs down your face and neck. You can get sweaty and not turn into smurfette with this brand. } This color and brand dyed my hair the exact color to the box color shades predicted. I've never before had hair color that matched the box but this did. } I have always hated having my hair a dark color but I love this dark color. Depending on the lighting my hair looks dark blue to violet and sometimes dark brown/black in some camera shots without the flash on it even looks normal dark brown to black. PRO TIPS: 1.} Cover your counter in old towels or piddle pads (does stain counters and showers and skin if not washed off asap) before starting to mix the hair dye. 2.} Use lotion> I used the dollar tree chamomile relaxing-sleep lotion. Apply around edges of your hair line widely/thick, apply on shoulders, chest. This hydrates your skin as a bonus but even better when you inevitably as we all do-> The ends of your hair that is coated in the dye touches other areas of your body by using the lotion then when you rinse your hair the lotion keeps it from dying your skin and face blue/ purple. If it does get on area without lotion on it quickly/asap wash with soap and water otherwise your skin will be purple/blue til it fades off. 3.}. Other people says this dyes your white showers I have learned this is true if you let the color sit and dry on your white or light colored showers/counters/walls but if you wash it with water and even use soap and rinse it very well before it dries it will not color or stain. 4.} I did have a few hair strand loss but not a lot. Use the conditioner the kit provides. It made my hair feel so healthy and soft. 5.} Make sure to massage the dye in and even comb through it with a non metal comb then massage in again. This helps to evenly coat each hair strand, and seems to help the dye to work or activate better, and you get a massage at the same time. THE CONS 1.} The permanent color does fade quickly to a washed out color that I absolutely hated. It does wash out a little bit each time you wash your hair. 2.} It will dye your white/light colored towels and will not come out. 3.} It does not color dark hair which is a huge bummer. I hate that. You must bleach your hair to blondest blonde possible before using this brand. It will work on light color hair just not dark hair. 5.} It will dye your skin and showers/counters if you do not heed my tips. 6.} Make sure each time you wash your hair after the initial dying process that you rinse your shower out very well. Over all I will buy this brand and color again.

Does not work good on grays turned them metallic for a couple washes then gone

I am convinced that if someone has had an issue with this hair dye they are doing something wrong. But I’m also super on top of my hair care. Every color in this line I have had exactly zero issues with. I bleach (Ion bright white powder lightener, and I have Ion 10, 20, 30 and 40 vol developers depending on the lift I want) my hair before applying because my hair is black, but if you don’t have dark as heck hair and are ok with a hint of color in the sun this stuff will do it as well. I get gorgeous vibrant color on my hair even if I decide to leave it at a lift of only 7. I’m super happy with this hair dye and so thankful I found it after it got so hard to find my Ion permanent colors. Hair type: thick strands, densely packed, 2C-3A, black Care: wash once weekly or if doing an activity with heavy soiling. Redken Detox Hair cleansing shampoo. Once weekly (or immediately after finishing coloring) Redken 14% acidic bonding treatment mask. Argon oil after removing excess moisture then Pureology Color Fanatic Detangling spray. Brush it and leave it to air dry. I do not put heat on my hair unless I can’t help it (I have bangs and some times they rebel.)
