do you have a stand for this dispenser?

Not a stand. I just lay it in the soap dish with the regular sponge. It doesn't leak.

Has anyone used the wand as an applicator, say for glue or shellac?

I used one for painting squares on the floor. It worked great!

Does it really not leak (my only reason for buying)?

Mine does not leak. I was away from home 2 weeks; I left it in the bottom of the sink, no leaking but was, of course, dried out. Just ran some water on it and it was ready to use.

The photo is of a dish sponge. The description is of a bar stool. Is this a cellulose sponge or a synthetic sponge? Do the Libman refills fit this?

I bought this a while back-have used Arrow brand for years. Other brands of sponge heads do not fit properly so you must commit to the Arrow brand (others typically leak dish soap). The sponge is the same type you'd find on a Scotch Bright and it's easy to clean in either the microwave or dishwasher if it doesn't need replacing but needs cleaning.
