Art Models Photoshoot AnaIv Motion Session: Anaiv Motion Session : 38 Sets of Motion Poses for over 1000 Photos!

I'm s former art student with a BFA in fine arts. Doing figure drawings takes me back to my college days in art school. The Art Models series is very well done. In addition to this product I have a book, and use their online site to get more models and poses. A very good resource indeed!

These poses are very good for artists to practice on. The models never move.

I like that it shows transitional poses that cannot be held by a model. For a future shoot of this type, it would be nice to have multiple synchronized cameras so three or more angles could be seen. (I am a sculptor.)

The pros: Quality lit photos, sometimes with a CD ROM / DVD, with access to a website which for a fee will give you more photos, a variety of models (sometimes). Some poses have action, rather than being static. You usually get a good amount of poses for your money, when being an artist without money to pay models is an issue. The poses never move, like real models, can be printed, and some show a whole variety of facial expressions which are missing from so many models' CV's. The cons: Cheesy poses. Mostly women with the same old boring body type, or personality type, & not enough men. Why is it assumed that all people using these references are men? And in some of the volumes the women's poses show genitalia way too graphically- sometimes the pose is just to show the genitalia. I dont see the reason why an 8.5x11" close up pic of that is necessary, and if your going to do that, do the men's as well. I said this about other "nude photography" books and these series are no different. I never use all the poses in these volumes but usually find several that I can use -you have to pick and choose.
