It works. After a wasp nest popped up on my balcony, hanging this nearby seemed to prevent any wasps from nesting again for well over a year. Recently I actually had a new wasp colony pop up on the ceiling of my balcony, and I was concerned that the decoy nest hadn't worked. Much to my surprise, however, I noticed that the decoy nest was gone --- apparently, I hadn't noticed that it had blown away during a recent rainstorm (either that, or the apartment complex maintenance staff took it down without letting me know). Either way, it seems to work, and I'm about to buy a replacement. Would recommend.

We’ve just had the annual invasion of the carpenter bees. We can’t even sit out on our porches! I have cedar posts that hold up the roof on the back porch. And I have Western Red Cedar Board and Batten siding all the way across the front of my house and posts and railing out of cedar. Obviously this is a favorite variety of wood that carpenter bees LOVE!!!! We’ve tried everything over the years but they continue to chew up the cedar wood on my house. I had been reading articles about these fake hornets nests keeping these bees away. A brown paper bag or anything made of paper would not last very long outside so I sat out on a quest to find these fake hornets nest that could withstand the elements of being outside. That’s when I ran across this item. I watched his videos and he reminds me of my dad. He is very passionate about HIS family business. He takes pride in his product. It’s not a giant corporate business that really doesn’t care to have a personal connection with their customers. However, this man personally encourages his customers to contact him if they have any problems or questions. How refreshing? I receive 3 of my fake hornets nests and put them up this afternoon. Two on the front porch because there is so much cedar and one on the back porch because it’s just 6x6 posts back there. The minute I hung the nests up it grabbed the attention of the bees. I just sat back and watched how the bees reacted for about an hour. It was the craziest thing I’ve seen. Before hanging the nests the bees just flew Willie Nilley all over the place, zooming past your head, all over the place. After hanging the nests they stopped flying in such crazy patterns. They would all, one at a time, multiple ones at a time, it didn’t matter, but they would hover close to the nest studying so intently on the nest. They would move up and down and around the nest checking it out. Then all of a sudden they would zoom off away from the nest. I couldn’t believe the instant interest it created with these bees. I’ll keep updating to see how they reacted over the next week to see if the fake nest actually runs the bees off. But today was very interesting to watch how they immediately reacted to the fake nests. It was really quite comical!!!! I certainly hope it does the trick and I don’t have to spend money on expensive chemicals that you have to keep battling them without much success. This is a chemical free natural solution to a horrible problem. I’ll let y’all know how it works out!!!!! UPDATE: ): The strong winds we had yesterday took away 2 out of my 3 that I had JUST got and hung up on cup hooks. The one that didn’t get blown away was on an eye hook. Ordered 2 replacement nests and some eye hooks today. This time I will tie them to the eye hooks. With the winds we had yesterday those 2 nests are probably over in the next county. It’s still very windy outside today but nothing like it was yesterday. We are waiting for round #5 of the weekly weekend tornado watches!!! I’m really getting tired of these storms and staying up all night, packed and ready with my two little Yorkies, to head to the storm shelter!!! Word of advice for everyone…make sure you secure the nest so it won’t blow away. I suggest using eye hooks.

Put this up four years ago near my patio umbrella and never once had wasps move in. Moved my patio set elsewhere and didn’t move this with it and got wasps within 2 weeks building a nest inside the umbrella. This thing is legit. Ordering two more.

I'd never claim that "it works" without a well designed CONTROLLED experiment with statistically significant sample size! Having said that.......it works!

My husband especially likes this fake wasps nest. Says it'll scare away door to door solicitors. Not sure it works well on Yellow Jackets though. No matter. Makes my husband happy. Lol

We live out in the country by the lake. We are constantly getting taken over by dirt daubers, yellow jackets, carpenter bees, and worst of all the Mack daddy red wasps that just sting you because they’re just as hot and miserable outside as you. I had heard about hanging a fake hornets nest like a brown paper bag but all that would do around here is draw more spiders. I searched fake hornet's nest and this product appeared. Compared to all the others, it was a little pricey. But look at it. It’s made of weatherproof material, able to withstand an Arkansas thunderstorm. So what the heck, I thought I would try a couple. It would be worth a shot to be able to use our patio again and even walk out the door without a new wasp nest showing up in my wreath. It would be nice not to feel like every day you had to “defend” your own porch from “evaders”! When these came in, I was skeptical. They were crumpled up in a plastic bag and looked kinda cheap. (I’m not really sure what I was looking for.) I read the directions and hung them up. I might add to put a few pieces of gravel in the bottom just so it doesn’t blow in the wind too much. Y’all, it’s just pretty darn amazing! There are no mud nests on the ceiling in our pavilion, no wasps nests in the eaves of our house, and I have yet to be dive bombed when I walk out the door! I will say we are just in the first part of May but they’ve usually at least stung one of the dogs by now but so far we have all been safe! However, I returned to order some more of these and they are SOLD OUT!!! I sure hope they get more of these in soon because I’m giving them to friends and family! They are a game changer! Now if someone could invent something like this for ticks, chiggars, and snakes, I would be eternally grateful!🤣

It looks nice, but it doesn’t keep wasps away. They built a nest right above it.

I have had this hanging up since 2023. At first it was a great deterrent... Then last year the wasps literally ate a hole through the fake opening and started building inside it. I sprayed the interior with wasp spray and that stopped it. This year, I noticed a couple early wasps (mid April) checking it out. So I preemptively sprayed it again. I took it down, and am going to fill it with the pest control version of Great Foam and hope that takes care of the problem and I can get more years out of it. It has deterred the usual swarm of wasps that would try to take up residence in my front porch - so I definitely want it as a deterrent and not a home.
