Easy, fun, and delicious!
I love mushrooms, but had never seriously entertained the idea of growing them before. I had a friend mention mushroom kits which peaked my interest, so I decided to give it a go. I decided on oyster mushrooms because they are a personal favorite of mine and a bit hard to come by where I live. The growing process is extremely simple from start to finish. All you have to do it cut an X , agitate the top layer of "soil", and mist twice daily with the included sprayer. I put my log(?) on a table in front of my kitchen window which gets a lot of natural sunlight (but never any direct sunlight) and followed the steps. The instructions said that it can take up to a week before you see growth, but mine started after a couple of days. Watching the mushrooms grow was strangely satisfying! They grew shockingly fast and would double in size sometimes within the same 24 hour period. About a week after starting the grow kit, I had a beautiful crop of mushrooms ready to harvest. They tasted great and I look forward to buying another kit soon! Would highly recommend the product to mushroom lovers or anyone who may want to overwhelm their friends and family with daily pictures of shockingly fast growing mushrooms. P.S. - One thing that I did a bit differently from the instructions was mist more than the instructions called for (somewhere around 15 or 16 sprays each time and sometimes more than twice a day). Since I don't know the counter factual, I'm not sure if that helped or hurt my final product, so I am not explicitly recommending it. Regardless, I was very happy with the batch I got.

Super easy. Super tasty!
These things were beyond ridiculously easy to grow. It was amazing to go to bed in the evening, and then wake up the next morning and see a flush starting to grow. Even more exciting to check on the in the morning, go to work for 8 hours, and come home to see them almost doubling in size every time. At first I was afraid nothing was going to happen, as I didn't see any growth or anything for the first three days. But when the substrate started developing pins, it went very quickly after that. My house tends to be a bit dry, so I actually put a Ziploc bag with the bottom cut out of it for a makeshift plastic sleeve so I could spritz the inside of the bag for additional humidity. Perhaps I was overly cautious, but I was not disappointed with the quantity or the beautiful pink hue of the caps. They do lose most of their color when cooked, turning more of a dark yellow/orange (at least when sauteed). The flesh is meaty and tender, with a wonderful fruity earthiness to them. A lot of mushrooms concentrate their flavors when they are dried, so I am actually going to put my second flush in the dehydrator and see how they turn out. Perfect for beginners and enthusiasts, and even professional growers who know how to harvest the spores and inoculate their own substrates. Will definitely buy again, and definitely turned on to the art of mushroom farming. 10/10

Taste like BACON! - Got 3 flushes.
I wouldn't have believed it unless I actually grew and tasted it. Fried with butter, salt and pepper till brown and the edges were dark and a little crispy. Taste just like bacon and even the kids loved it. It was fully grown in 5 days, though I did follow the directions for a second flush to a T and nothing grew. Thats ok though because they were still really good. Update. Added pics of the first two flushed. Even got a 3rd flush (no pic). I waited too long to harvest the 3rd flush and the mushrooms dropped spores. When spores drop,, no more mushrooms will grow on mycelium that the spores got on so after 3 flushes my brick is done.. I will definitely buy another kit as some point. Well worth the money!

Wow! Delicious and Easy to Grow
I bought this kit because I am a biology teacher, and I thought it might be a good addition to our fungi unit. I wanted to test it at home to see if it would be good to add to my class. It was easy to use, quick to grow, and now it's on its third flush of delicious mushrooms! They are very umami in flavor. My children say they taste like salmon or mussels. It doesn't take much to add richness to any stir fry. The first time I cooked them, I added about a cup of sliced mushrooms for a 4-person stir fry dish, and it was a bit too rich. The second time, I cut them smaller and used about 1/3 cup for a 4-person meal. It was just right! I will say that when the mushrooms are almost ready to harvest they smell very strongly of mushrooms. I didn't mind it too much, but some sensitive noses in my family were bothered. =) I'm very happy with this kit, and I plan to buy another for my biology class to grow next year.

Hardy and easy to grow
This stuff turned out surprisingly well. I got several harvests out of it. The growth patterns of the mushrooms can be a little unpredictable sometimes, and you don't always know how long it will take for you to get the next wave, but they were pretty hardy. I received them in August and not it's almost January, and the fungus is still alive. It's struggling to grow a mushroom at this stage, but it's still trying. I've even tried experimenting with growing the mycelium in coffee grounds, and it's still going strong. My advice is to follow the instructions and to not give up too easily on it. At some points, some nasty mold grew on the block, but I found that if I watered it more, the oyster mushroom mycelium would fight back and take over again. I used water from a jug from the store rather than city tap water, though I don't know what difference it made. Just make sure you water it a lot. Unlike houseplants, it's nearly impossible to over-water this stuff. The only place I'd suggest deviating from the instructions is the part where it says to wrap the block in a paper towel for a week. I would advise against this. This is what caused the mold growth one time, and another time, mushrooms grew under the paper towels and got all squished. If you do this, it can end up getting dried out. Maybe you should just keep it wrapped up like that for a day or two while the excess water drains out. Overall, this stuff is hardy and easy to grow if you give you just give it a little attention every day. The mushrooms were pretty good eating too. They have a delicate flavor, but they have to be cooked quite a bit. Even just for their aesthetics, they're quite beautiful to look at.

Beware of contam, look for off color patches before you start. If you think it, return it.
Ordered two, both came with odd patches in the plastic wrap but sometimes various grow medis can look off. I thought we will see, both contaminated with Tricoderma practically instantly. It's not my grow because other oyster shrooms did not contam. This was a shame because I bought from here and had great results. Not this time though.

I love these kits so much
I bought the three pack after my success with this single pink oyster kit. Iโve harvested two flushes, following the directions on their site, and am hoping to get one more out of it. I wish I had thought to weigh my harvests so I could give you an economic break down compared to buying these gourmet mushrooms at a farmers market. Sorry about that. What I will say is that the experience of watching them grow then getting to harvest and taste these deliciously meaty flavored mushrooms is well worth the price. I did sterilize my knife before cutting the X as directed and I used filtered and boiled water in the provided spray bottle, after cooling, to minimize any contamination of the mycelium. Attached are photos of the daily progress of my first flush (29JUN26-02JUL26) and the second to last two photos are of my second flush with this single kit (24JUL26-16JUL26). I soaked it, taped closed the original X (not well enough) then cut a new X to the left of the original to start the second flush. The last photo is of all my kits growing in the windowsill after I bought the three pack. Iโm VERY happy with these kits. 100% success rate. No mold. Highly recommend.

Seems to grow just about as well as any house plant ive had
I followed the directions (spray 7-8 pumps 2 times per day) and they dont seem to be growing right. Theyre all small and clumpped in the middle and larger on the outside. Why would they grow like that? Did i get a partially bad batch? Did i spray them too little or too much? Are they all edible or should i try one of the big ones? Can i just pick and eat it or do i need to cook it or somehow treat it?
