Fantastic value for the money, just don't buy it for HDR
A brand new 50-inch 4K TV with Google TV for just over ยฃ200 is hard to complain about. It's miles better than the no-name smart platforms you get on a lot of budget TVs. Everything you'd expect is there and you can easily load up any other apps you might want. The interface is generally pretty responsive. There's the odd occasionally stutter, but you can flip through stuff rapidly without issue and I haven't found myself getting frustrated waiting for apps to load or menus to catch up. The remote is decent, setup was straightforward, and it all feels more polished than it has any right to be for the price. Picture quality is honestly pretty good ranging from "fine" to mildly impressive (for the price). For everyday viewing. 4K content looks sharp, colours are decent once you've tweaked the picture settings a bit, and for films and TV in the evening it's perfectly enjoyable. The reason I've knocked a star off is the brightness. Even with normal SDR content, it's on the dim side if you're watching in a bright room during the day you'll see your own reflection on the screen. It's absolutely watchable, but it lacks the punch you'd get from a brighter panel. If this is going in a lounge with lots of sunlight, bear that in mind - For bedrooms or out of direct sunlight it's not a huge issue. HDR on the otherhand is borderline pointless. Yes, the TV supports HDR formats on paper, but realistically the panel just isn't bright enough to do them justice. In fact, I often found HDR content looked worse than the SDR version, especially in darker scenes where everything ended up looking a bit flat or murky to the point where i ended up disabling it. The built-in speakers are "fine" for normal TV, but like most TVs this thin, they won't impress you with films. A cheap soundbar would make a world of difference Overall the advice you'll get on reddit etc is "get a better TV", and for another ยฃ1-200 you certainly could. That notwithstanding, provided you temper expectations to "it was 200 quid", it's a solid budget TV with a good smart platform.

Very good
Iโve been using the TCL 43V6C for 2 months and Iโm very happy with it. The picture quality is great, Google TV runs smoothly, and I havenโt had any issues. Excellent value for the price. Highly recommended!

Solid 65in. VFM
Brilliant picture/functions/price - a quantum leap from our previous 15yr old 47in LG (good at the time). TV picture on some channels so-so (either because not 4k transmission or location, not sure) but OK. Streamed/DVD content pin-sharp. Delivery meh (missed first appt.) but all sorted eventually. Had a 2yr wtty as well. Took away old unit too. Recommended.
