I bought this because I was concerned about the long-term health of my three cats. After adopting a kitten, I was surprised by how much water she drank compared to my other two. Then one day, she stopped drinking and started dumping the water out. I came across this fountain and hoped it would encourage all three of them to drink more. The fountain is very easy to set up and maintain. I keep it in the kitchen under a desk and let it run nonstop. I clean and refill it every Saturday—it’s a quick and simple process. The kitten started drinking from it the same day I set it up. Now she gets annoyed when I unplug it to clean it. My other two cats were curious at first but didn’t use it right away, which had me worried. I eventually set up a camera and saw that they were using it while I was out of the room and overnight. Once I stopped hovering, they began using it regularly. I love this fountain and plan to buy another for a different area of the house. It works great and is very quiet. If I can hear it, it usually just means I need to add more water. I’ve been using it since January, and after 4 months of use, when I unplugged one day, then plugged it back in, the filter didn’t start. I unplugged it again, removed the spout, and turned the filter upside down on the counter for a few hours. After putting it back together, it started working again immediately and has been fine ever since. Even if it hadn’t started working again, it still would have been worth it—I would have replaced it. My cats love it and drink from it regularly. We all prefer this one over other fountains I’ve tried. It’s much easier to use and keep clean. **Heres an addition. Turns out if it is unplugged and the filter is left in the water it does not start up when plugged back in. This happened two more times. Again, I turned the filter upside down on the counter and left it there. When I plugged it back in again it worked. It’s a keeper. I guess all good things must come to an end. My fix stopped working and I bought a replacement motor which only lasted a short while. The fix did not work at all in the replacement. So I recently bought the automated fountain you can set to start and stop with movement. So far so good. Keep your fingers crossed.

I have tried several fountains and this is my and my cats favorite by far. What I like: - Large capacity. I have several cats and I like that I can fill it and it’ll last for up to a week. - Stainless material seems to keep the water cold. - The spout creates a nice even flow. At first my cats were a bit hesitant to grab the water from the flow but now it’s the fountain they go to the most. - Easy to see water level - there is a side window where you can easily see where the water level is. - Easy to clean! - The top lid of the fountain lifts off easily (unlike others). The pump easily comes apart so you can get the nooks and crannies clean with ease. The fountain requires 2 filters. One is a black mesh like circle that surrounds the pump and the other is a charcoal (I think) based flat filter that the water passes through. I change both filters once a week and that seems sufficient. The fountain does not get dirty and the filters seem to do their job well. The cost of the filters will always be an additional cost but they are relatively inexpensive and can be bought in bulk. The price of the fountain seems fair and reasonable. I plan on replacing other fountains with this one. This product far exceeds other fountains (especially plastic based ones) by far.

Alright, I'm giving 5 stars because so far everything is running well. There is no build up or slime around the spout (yet). I guess I am skeptical, because I have used stainless steel fountains before, and gunk gets into the water (from the filter I suppose) and a slimy film appears on the top. I haven't seen that yet here, but I'll update if I do! I love the fact that it looks like a running faucet because one of my cats loves drinking out of a faucet! The size is great! You can fit so much water in there! It's quiet and very pleasing to look at!

Oh my gosh, my cat LOVES this! I have a cat who usually likes to use his water bowl as a swimming pool and so I’m washing it and refilling it like three or four times a day. As soon as I set this up. He was right there he was splashing, batting it, stalking it he had no idea what was going on, but he knew he loved it. Had it for about two weeks now I wash it out fully every once a week or five days or so. It’s very easy to clean. I know you can put it in the dishwasher, but I always wash it in the sink because my cat literally sits. They’re watching me and waiting for it to return. I just changed the filter today for the first time and it was very dirty so it’s definitely filtering out all of his fur and dust. He guzzling the water. He drinks it from the fountain he drinks it from the flat part, he puts his paw under the fountain and then drinks it off his paw. It does require an outlet and I just use a little extender so I can keep it in a place where he’s used to. I did have to move my burr grinder for my coffee set up, but it’s worth it.😀 I decided to splurge on the real deal because I know my cat would put this thing to the test and it’s been very well worth it. Thank you kitty spout for the best early Christmas present that my cat could’ve asked for. I included a picture of the filter that I changed out after two weeks to show how much dirt and fur it does capture and I have a picture of my cat drinking water off his paw the literal second I set it back down.

Bought this to replace a smaller fountain that stopped working after a couple years. I purchased this about 2 months ago and I really like this fountain, and so do my two cats. Its large capacity means I’m not needing to fill it every day. The blue light on the pump allows you to see the water level in the little window. And the filter does a decent job keeping particles from getting into the reservoir. Most of the time I can’t hear it running. The design allows for water to come through the copper spout, but if your cats prefer a bubbling effect, you can run it with the spout. It doesn’t affect how the pump functions. The price may bit a little higher than I wanted to pay, but in the end it was worth it. I suggest buying a bunch of extra filters when you buy this fountain. I seem to be changing them more frequently than suggested by the manufacturer, and it only came with 3 filter sets; one to start with and 2 spares. I don’t mind changing them often, but other people might not like doing so. Now, my ONLY complaint is that if the water level drops too low, the pump DOES NOT shut off. (This is why I give it 4 stars instead of 5.) It will still run and attempt to push water through. I’m afraid this could cause an early malfunction with the pump. The water level issue has only happened once, during an extremely hot week this summer. Not only were the cats drinking the water more frequently, but it was possibly also being evaporated into the dry air. I’d hate to need to replace this fountain already!

I purchased This Kitty Spout Stainless Steel Fountain with the copper colored spout and was excited to get it for my 3 Maine Coons. I have 2 other fountains but different styles and then just regular yeti water bowls. I don’t typically like leaving a negative review but I am concerned about the overall health of any cat using this fountain. I am very clean conscientious person and clean my yeti water bowls multiple times daily as it’s quick and easy. I thought by trying this style I could go every 1-2 days and then clean the fountain. Well, within the first 2 days I noticed the carbon filter was reddish in color but the water still clear. I immediately changed the filter as it had a red moldy look and felting slimy. I have NEVER seen this before with the other 2 fountains as they use the same filter. I change the water every day or every other day as my cats love cold fresh water. With the alarm of a red looking filter, I cleaned every part and took the entire guts scrubbing everything and reassembled it and put it back to work. Then the next day I see the filter has a slight pink tint so I rinse the filter and clean the entire thing again. Day 2 the filter is now red again. So I change the filter and clean all of it again. (I replaced the filter). For the past 2 weeks I replace the filter every 2 days because the filter is red and I a constantly cleaning this fountain. Finally after using the AI questioning that Amazon has on this app and asking questions about my concerns regarding the Red Moldy Filter, it was recommended I stop using this fountain immediately and call the company. There is NO REASON the filter should be Red Daily especially when my other fountain filters have not turned Red ever. Probably because I clean them every day or at the most every other day. My cats I noticed have all been sick with diarrhea so the only thing they could have in common is this fountain. I have Pulled it and am sending it back in hopes of a store credit as I have only had it for a couple weeks. The whole idea was to have clean drinking water from a clean stainless steel water fountain that my cats enjoy drinking from. This pot size fountain has some type of serious design flaw for this to happen or a contaminate. In addition, fountains in general are NOT meant to last a week before you clean the water. All the fountains water get cloudy and do not look fresh after a couple days so it’s crazy to think going a week or more before cleaning it is healthy. I think based on my cat’s behavior they all drink from the Yeti bowls multiple times a day and are happy. They do try the 2 remaining fountains but use them most often right after they are freshly filled with cold water. What that tells me is obvious! I hope this helps in deciding if a fountain, especially stainless steel is the right option for the overall health and safety for your best friends!

This kitty fountain is great. It is easy to clean and works so much better than the other brand fountain I used. My cats seem to be fascinated with the spout.

My senior cat was not drinking her water from the bowl. She started going to the sink, shower, toilet anywhere but her bowl. So I decided to try this. First tip, be patient. My cat sniffed it and turned her tail up at it. Not interested and annoyed it was in her space. I even dipped my finger in and put it to her lips so she would know. Nope. So I moved it into the bathroom. After a few days, I caught her cautiously sipping it. Now she uses it all the time. Second tip: I refresh the water daily and clean it weekly. If you don't clean it, it will get gross and your cat will stop using it and you have to start over. Go ahead and order a pack of filter replacements now too. Doesn't make a lot of noise, like a zen water fountain lol.

Gifted this to my mil for Christmas, she adores it and the cats enjoy it. Works well, quiet and easy clean!

Out of the box KittySpout looked exactly as it was advertised. It was easy to put together and to get operational.

We received our water bowl last Sunday and after a week, I think we all like it! Our two boys both use it now after a little hesitation but I’d consider it a score! It is very, very quiet and the stainless steel has a very nice, clean look to it. It says to clean it and change filters every couple of weeks which looks pretty straight forward. If they get fussy about it we may do it every week. Anyway, so far so good, we would recommend at this point!
