Shop SMART! You CAN afford this amazing food for your kitty!
So far sooo great!!! A rescue kitten, at only 3 1/2 weeks old, came into my life just over 1 month ago. While I was looking to adopt a rescue, it seemed like many of the rescue agencies used & suggested a certain brand, even at so young. I was rather surprised. I did not find my little girl from a typical rescue agency, so I was asking around, a lot!! The “cat expert” at a Petsmart I went to, had mentioned that this SUPER wealthy family in Newport ONLY feed their animals this brand. I thought, of course a wealthy family goes for the priciest food, right? So, after passing on the Royal Canin the 1st time, thinking Petsmart was just trying to up-sell me, I started doing more research. Then, I finally tried a few cans of the BABYCAT Instinctive. Kitten was at the “weaning formula” stage at this point, and, great advertising/lingo of the health benefits or not, she not only immediately took to it, but her coat seemed to become healthier; so shiny in just 2 days!! Since then, I have attempted 2 other brands — understanding that changing food brands can cause some tummy upset the first couple of day. I tried to do a 1/2 & 1/2 cross-over, twice. While she’d eat it, it seemed very clear that the change was not pleasant for her or myself!! Oh!! The smells of the other 2 brands were NOT fun (fresh out of the can, or at the other end!). I get it. Even if it smells bad to us, if it’s good for her, it’s worth it. I just haven’t been able to find ANY other brand that she loves so much!! Beyond the ingredients that give me peace of mind, it really seems to make her coat shine, and she smells so good!! Most kittens/cats will have that cat smell. She actually smells good!! I can’t explain it. Also, her “business” is far less stinky than with the other brands I tried (yes, she’s completely off the weaning formula already). Pros: Ingredients, SMELL, kitten loves it, & it truly does feel like I’m giving her the best possible nutrition, especially being that she so obviously didn’t have mother’s milk for anywhere near long enough. Cons: Cost$$. I felt like it was going to hurt. I FELT like I was being suckered into giving my kitten what this ultra wealthy fam fed their animals, it did. I will always go for a better priced brand, IF, it works as well...on many ranges of products. Now, as long as I shop smart, I am able to find this exact brand & style (I’m keeping her on the BABYCAT stage/level for the recommended 4 months of age) in bulk, at a great price!! I’m able to match, or even beat, the other “top line” brand pricing!! I end up spending approx $1.69/day feeding her a quality product that we both love. There are deals out there!! Bottom Line: Worth it!! For her AND for my nose!!

Highly recommend. I could not get my kitten to eat. He took to this immediately.
Purchased for baby kitten got from a rescue. He did not want to eat the kitten food from store. I tried several brands to no avail. I was getting worried because he was loosing weight. He loves this!!! He ate right away. Very soft food. It very moist and perfect for such a small kitten I researched what food to buy, as in best nutrition and so on. Royal Canine rated very high. I don’t notice any smell but, kitten must. He ate right away👍. Highly recommend.

Best food for unthrifty kittens!
I have fostered almost 50 cats and kittens and I swear by this stuff! It is the best food to wean kittens on to, and great for picky adult cats as well. The only downside is the price, but it’s worth it to save tiny lives!

Actually, My CAT Gives it 5 Stars
After having to deal with a vet bill (and a very embarrassed 5 year male cat) for dealing with cat constipation I was told to switch both of my cats to a wet diet. Apparently, ALL cats should be eating wet food as they really do not need the carbs and fiber (fillers) in commercial dry foods. I did a ton of research thinking the vet must be crazy...isn't wet food just a "treat" for spoiled Persian cats who wear diamond encrusted collars? Well, not exactly. Many pet nutritionists would argue that even the "worst" (aka Fancy Feast, Nine Lives, etc.) wet food is better than ANY dry food for cats. But, since I can't leave well enough alone I did further research and found THIS food (Babycat) was actually one of the best wet food available...and suitable for even grown cats (if you knew my cat you'd know why I didn't say 'adult').I took my list of "best" wet foods to a local pet food store and bought several brands on the highly recommended list (lowest carb content) and pretty much let him (the cat) choose which one he would eat. Royal Canin won hands down. This was quite an accomplishment considering it took me well over a week to get him to eat ANY kind of wet food (he loved his crunchies). I actually had to take all of his food away and feed him {human} baby food with a syringe to have him make the conversion to wet food...it was not fun. Anyway, once he would eat wet food HE chose Royal Canin Baby Cat food and that is pretty much what he now eats exclusively. If I try to substitute any other brand (in those rare times we run out) he won't eat it all....leaving much waste.Knock on wood we have not had to go back to the vet for pooper problems in the year he has been eating Baby Cat. Although it DOES cost more than the cheapies I know he will eat it in a timely manner (eliminating most of the nasty canned cat food smell) and it will save him the embarrassment of having his butt poked by the vet, not to mention the vet bill.

Good for kitten’s bowel movement
Is a good item and healthy for kittens with frequent vowel movements! However, kittens become fussy and one of them doesn’t like this now which is a shame.
