Not, I repeat not a beginner puzzle. This will take time determination and attention to minute detail to get started. This is a 1000 piece puzzle. It is 25.6 x 25.6. You will need ample room to build it and an additional area to layout the puzzle pieces. As always, start with the border. This is the brutal part but once through that is gets easier and more enjoyable. The border more or less looks all the same utilizing basically three puzzle shapes that may have 3-4 pieces that fit in the same place, or so it seems. Below are some tips for the border. The rest is easier so you are on your own to enjoy First, separate all the border pieces (the ones with one straight side) and the four corners. Place the corners on your table as shown in the picture that comes in the box. I would then suggest separating the rest of the border pieces by their respective basic shapes. You will have three groups and three odd shaped border pieces. Next look closely for the white areas on the border pieces. These will be the letter at the bottom and the owls head and wing arch at the top. There are also a few dark patterned pieces, those will be the sorting hat and the snake, they go on the bottom. Lay them out there. I then start at a corner and just try hit and miss until you get a match. As I mentioned earlier several pieces look like they fit but may not. Check the top and bottom edge of the piece to make sure aligns smoothly with the adjoining piece. It should be a perfectly smooth transition. Next verify the gold and brown band line up. Finally there is a thin curvy line with small leaves (a vine) that has a repeating pattern. Yes this as your final verification that the piece is correct. If all three line up you are good to move one. The first side may take you a while and this method sounds very monotonous but you will start moving quickly as you become use to it. It took me 45 minutes to do the border and my wife calls me a puzzle savant so don’t get frustrated if you take an hour or two to get the border done. It’s worth the time and it does get easier and more fun after that Take breaks walk away and come back to it. You will be surprised that often you will see a match almost instantly when you return to it. This is one of the more difficult puzzles I have done but it was also the most rewarding one. The quality of the pieces is outstanding. Beautiful graphics, print quality and sealing is excellent. The cuts are clean and sharp. It arrives in a quality bag and carton. I’m hanging mine on a wall. It’s a great puzzle to test your brain and vision. It looks fantastic when complete and there is a little surprise at the end Take your time, don’t get frustrated and enjoy the build Great puzzle at an excellent price. I highly recommend it.

If you are wanting something easy/beginner stage, this puzzle is not for you. The poster that came with it was my best friend. I used it like a map to help guide me. The browns made it challenging but it was a good challenge. The borders took longer to do because they all looked the same. However, once you get the borders over with, everything was smooth sailing from there. I read that some buyers had missing pieces but fortunately for me, I had all of them. It was a fun puzzle to do and definitely stimulated my brain. This puzzle was beautifully made.

Phenomenal quality and super fun to put together. Since the border is so uniform, we decided to not start with edges first, and I think that was a smart choice. The pieces are a good size (as if it's a 500 piece puzzle) and easy to work with. Not a complaint but have to keep in mind the size is 25.6" x 25.6" which is larger than our normal puzzle holder that's rated for "1500" pieces. Well worth it though, easily our favorite puzzle.

This puzzle was fun and challenging to put together. I love that there is a secret message that you can reveal after it is completed that directs you to a website where the fun continues. The puzzle pieces are high quality and packaged very nicely in a drawstring pouch. I will be buying more in the future.

This puzzle is beautiful! It’s a typical jigsaw puzzle as far as that goes.

Best puzzle ever!!

Do you like challenging puzzles? This is a pretty extreme difficulty! During a weeklong family vacation with a dozen family members, I purchased this for a teen fan of Harry Potter. It was so daunting nobody wanted to even attempt it, so I started putting the the border together all by myself, which is usually pretty straightforward, but not so with this puzzle! It took multiple hours just to get the border together, but once I did, other family members began to pitch in from time to time until it was completed in about three or four days. The secret message once it was completed is a fun addition. The satisfaction once completed is worth 5 stars, but be forewarned, the initial frustration is impressive. Only those with an eagle eye and great patience will persevere! For the record, there were no missing pieces and the beautifully designed pieces fit together perfectly.

This looked very fun. Everyone likes it, not as amazing as you might hope it should be, but it's still great.
