Everyday Ayurveda is the perfect lifestyle guide designed to maximize health, longevity, and happiness the natural way. Do you sometimes feel tired, lethargic and spiritless? How can Ayurveda help in a simple, practisable manner? Time is scarce and precious in today's world, and we seek solutions that are quick. While allopathic medicine tends to focus on the management of disease, the ancient study of dinacharya provides us with holistic knowledge of preventing disease and eliminating its root cause. Taking us through a day in the life of Ayurveda living, Dr Bhaswati Bhattacharya illustrates the core principles of Ayurveda and shows us how to incorporate these in our routine. She explains the logic behind the changes she recommends and how they benefit us. Informative and accessible, Everyday Ayurveda is the perfect lifestyle guide designed to maximize health, longevity and happiness the natural way. Praise for Everyday Ayurveda 'Dr Bhaswati has written a book that will help resurrect the knowledge I grew up on, using scientific logic for modern scientists, and slokas for ancient scientists and observers. Her writing will appeal to the intelligent seeker dedicated to achieving a good life using conscious self-care, attention to healthy habits and respect for the wisdom of the ancients.' - Shashi Tharoor, member of parliament 'Bhaswati combines her talents as a healer with passion for sharing truly healing medicine. She has written from the song in her heart that celebrates light, sound and connection with nature.' - Pandits Rajan and Sajan Misra, Padma Bhushan recipients and classical Hindustani vocalists of the Banaras Gharana 'Bhaswati is uniquely able to diagnose like good medical doctors of the past, watching the patient rather than the test result. With a person-centered approach, this book is a tribute to Ayurveda and explains why we should pay more attention to the signals our bodies give us.' - Ashok H. Advani, founder publisher, The Business India Group 'Bhaswati has preserved the Sanskrit from which dinacharya emanates. Through her unending curiosity and dedication as a well-trained physician, scientist and professor, she has brought basic concepts of Ayurveda to light. She has toiled and delved deeply with engaging clarity, a fine mind and an extraordinarily connected soul. She teaches Ayurveda authentically because it is in her heart.' - Dr Vd. Chandrabhushan Jha, former dean, faculty of Ayurveda, Banaras Hindu University and professor emeritus of Rasa Shastra 'Ancient Ayurvedic rishis developed dinacharya, a way of maintaining normal body rhythms and staying healthy. Assisted by logic and personal accounts, Dr Bhaswati brings dinacharya alive in this book and reinforces its importance and necessity, especially in busy lives.' - Vd. Partap Chauhan, founder of Jiva Ayurveda 'Dr Bhaswati unlocks the age-old tenets of Ayurveda contained in cryptic Sanskrit verses. Her strong roots in tradition and willingness to branch out to the modern world make this book precious, like any true vidya.' - Dr. PR Krishnakumar, Padma Shree recipient and managing director, Arya Vaidya Pharmacy (Coimbatore) 'As a fellow Fulbright Scholar, I have witnessed Dr Bhaswati devote her life to researching and preserving Ayurveda, and bringing it back to the hands and hearts of people.' - Gautam Gandhi, former head of new business development, Google India Review: Excellent choice - This book serves as the perfect introductory guide for anyone curious about Ayurveda but intimidated by its seemingly ancient and complex concepts. Everyday Ayurveda successfully bridges the gap between traditional wisdom and modern, busy living, presenting the principles of this 5,000-year-old system in a practical, encouraging, and surprisingly approachable manner. Very grateful that this book is available and accessible
I can't thank Dr Bhaswati Bhattacharya enough for writing this book. My mother used to practice some of the simpler dinacharya aspects as a part of our daily upbringing. The fact that she knew of these practices despite never having gone to a school and married very young, means that many of these practices were culturally adopted as a matter of fact in her generation. With rapid urbanisation hardly these dinacharyas are practiced. I am glad this book is there to open us uneducated minds to simply sync in with what was already available to use wisdom of daily living for generations in india. My deepest gratitude to the author.

Good book in the form of story
The book is nicely written, in well articulated and figurative language. However, it could have been more explanatory. Images could have been included to make it more interesting. Nevertheless, it's a good read for the beginner.

Old is Gold ! For sure !
In this modern era of high speed internet, it's easy for one - if not conscious enough - to get stuck in the quagmire of information barrage. The world seems to be a place to gather more & more : entertainment, so called latest trends & knowledge, current affairs with too much extra content for novelty, & social media to say the least. When in such a situation, what others think & approve in general becomes what one seems to accept as to be followed ! "Morality like a chameleon takes the colour of the circumambient society." - as saint Paramhansa Yogananda aptly said decades back. Then, he adds (rephrasing might occur) : "But the laws with which the Lord upholds the creation are never altered - no matter how hard man tries." This is exactly what this book tells us about : many of the subtle laws of nature which govern our lives ! The vicious so called modern attitude, as mentioned earlier, is shaken to its very core of weak foundations ! When we are in harmony with nature, we pave way for our Ultimate Quest - the quest of Absolute - the only Truth - in this ever changing world ! This book sheds light in the dark forest, to show us the way made known to us by the sages - the Great Ones !

EXCELLENT BOOK ON AYURVEDA
Excellent, no words to praise. As a Keralite, I can proudly say that kerala is fortunate enough to have numerous Ayurveda pharmacies in every village, town and city. This book is an eye opener for every health enthusiasist particularly an Ayurvedic believer, and wide opens the door about the rich system of what Ayurvedic way of life is, the DINACHARYA. The highligts of the book are many, one among them is, the important points of each chapter is given as a box item. This will help the reader at least glance through the important points and then come back for a detailed study. This book will be my life long companion. This book has given me the courage to explore more about Ayurveda. For me its a great gift from Dr. Bhaswati Bhattacharya. Thank you Doctor for the excellent work.

Sets egzample, like sister's letters
Reading it is like having guiding sister. Very easy to read and is full of very useful information I did not came across in other similar books. No pictures, but described real life scenes replace them truly well. I am very happy I bought it - very wise, caring, supportive, informative and lightweight - another book to carry in my bag. It was interesting to read about exceptional hair care and hindu religion comparison to pagans belief. My granny cared about my hair in a very similar way, but using herb stews. Hair was special to her. Author was not happy with western comparison of hindu religion to paganism. We are Lithuanians - last pagans of Europe and I have to say that our old worldview was similar to hindu view - we were very close to nature too. There are relions which agresively and not fair critises those wordvuews wich are close to nature. That has nothing to do with love, goodheartedness. This book teaches and love, and goodheartedness , also sets egzample how to start with yourself. There are many good books, but this one is very good. I would be happy if my other books about ayurveda would have written in such style and spirit. Million thanx for the author!

Eye Opening!
I just finished reading this enlightening book and I recommend it to anyone who's interested in exploring and applying a new approach to a holistic way of life. I've been practicing the recommended daily morning rituals for the past more than 2 weeks and I'm seeing the results in my life such as clarity and thus making better choices. I'm also getting up earlier and getting more things done as result of all the Ayurveda simple and doable practices. Dr. Bhaswati's book not only reflects her vast knowledge but also her humanness and the courage to say what needs to be said when dealing with injustice. I'm very blessed and fortunate to have come across this book written by a person of high caliber both intellectually and spiritually and with a great and compassionate heart. Thank you for writing this book Dr. Bhaswati Bhattacharya.
