Q: Your product has healthy ingredients. But lists phenoxyethanol near the end. Is this safe, even though there may not be much of it?

This product is safe. EWG scores the natural preservative phenoxyethanol a 2 ("safe"/green) when used as recommended at less than 1% in skincare. We created Thrive's Daily Defense Sunscreen with LESS THAN 1% of Phenoxyethanol, which occurs naturally in products like Green Tea. Phenoxyethanol is a non-paraben, non-formaldehyde releasing preservative. During our formula design, we also consulted the 2016 European commission Scientific Committee on Consumer Safety (SCCS), which did an exhaustive revision on scientific studies published since 1980 on phenoxyethanol and its safety was confirmed when used at 1% or less in skin care. Finally, we've tested and use this product on ourselves and our families. We won't put anything in our products that we think is unsafe for us, our kids, or for you.

Absolutely not! ;). Thrive’s Daily Defense Sunscreen Balm is a MINERAL sunscreen. None of those chemicals. The active ingredient in our formula is a premium zinc oxide at 20%. Giving you a healthy 30 SPF daily moisturizer. The FDA has recently stated that the ingredients you mentioned are known or suspected to be unhealthy. Nearly 2/3 of sunscreens sold today use them. We worked for two years to make a great Sunscreen that left all that bad stuff out. But would avoid typical zinc whiteface, and be fine for everyday use. We hope you love it as much as we do. Enjoy!

Q: Is the bottle plastic, or glass?

Hi. The bottle is made of recyclable plastic. The carton is made from 100% post-consumer recycled paperboard.

Q: Can women with combo/ oily skin use this as well?

Yes. This lightweight daily moisturizer and sunscreen was designed for and tested by both men and women. Combo and oily skin customers will appreciate the design which gives a non greasy, matte feel while providing the best and safest sunscreen protection via mineral block.
