Allows me to restart my internet router because it is not dependent on WIFI or the internet
I really like YoLink's technology and products. already have a hub, siren and door/ window sensors that provide an alarm when doors to access the pool open. I purchased this because I wanted a way for my wife to restart my internet modem/router that was having issues regularly. Yolink devices provide a solution that was not too expensive and is not dependent on internet connectivity. This along with one of their smart plugs provided a perfect solution.

Great for device to device control of shut off valves
Used it to link directly to a automatic shut off valves on a rental property to allow tenants to quickly restore water in case of an accidental sensor trigger without having to go to the utility room. Small and reliable with long battery life. Would definitely recommend to enable control of valves that will work despite any network / hub connectivity when paired in device-to-device mode.

A "Dumb Fob" for your "Smart Home"
The Mini Flex Fob and Flex Fob are amazing little devices - long range, great battery, able to be configured in outside applications like Home Assistant, etc - exactly how a smart home fob should work in 2025. The Mini On/Off Fob is a different story altogether. After getting it loaded in the app, I noticed it doesn't have the same device details page that other devices, and other fobs, have - it goes straight into settings when you click it. Then I realized you can't configure YoLink automations for it, and it doesn't show up in Home Assistant after a reload - and that's because it's ONLY D2D, nothing else. This means no button press events in HA, no ability to see battery or signal strength in HA, and no ("Smart") way to control devices outside of the YoLink ecosystem. That's right, the Mini On/Off Fob is ONLY a D2D controller, nothing else. Additionally, if you try to configure D2D on the app, you can only see some of your other devices as pariable (for instance, YS6614-UC shows up, but not YS5716-UC or YS-5708-UC). No really good information about this on their website, just a vage statemen that says it can control things like lights, plugs, etc. Since I have other YoLink fobs, I expected the Mini On/Off Fob to behave the same, but have better buttons (they say on/off which is better than just having a dot or two) - what I got was basically a "Dumb Fob" for my "Smart Home" ... a remote control that get through walls and around corners, not a remote control that can trigger automations and scenes and etc etc etc.... Super disapointed in this product. YoLink needs to either do better at building products like this, or they need to be more transparent and have better documentation, so customers don't feel quite as ripped off.
