My mom has macular degeneration, the wet variety. Every three months for 2 years I've been taking her to the ophthalmologist/eye surgeon to have her left eye 'punched'...a procedure that I CAN NOT IMAGINE having done at all, much less every 3 months. I sit and hold her hand whilst this is happening and although there is no pain for her, I'm like curling up inside like a slug on salt. I've used Sports Research stuff for a few years now, and one of my favorites is the Astaxanthin 12mg as it offers benefits to those who must be out in the sun (farm work is FUN) too much. I also use several other supplements offered by SR, such as the collagen peptides, the Omega 3 Wild Alaskan Fish Oil, and others. As part of my 'fix MOM!' program I just last year put mom on SR Omega 3 Fish Oil, and the 12mg Astaxanthin. She'd been on both of these for less than 6 weeks when we went in for the quarterly cringe session October and her doctor decided that no punch was necessary as the internal bleeding 'wasn't apparent' at that visit. That was in October 2019. My mom was taking a lutein supplement that she found in Walmart...and I looked it over and was pretty unimpressed, so when I saw the Sports Research LuteinZaxanthin combo here on Amazon, I impulsively ordered it for her on January 7th of this year. She was therefore taking this supplement once a day, along with the additional 12mg of Astaxanthin. Today we went in for the usual examination...and the ophthalmologist actually gave mom's eyes a real going over...as she said mom's mac-degen has actually IMPROVED in both eyes. NO PUNCH NEEDED! Mom's next visit is in SIX MONTHS... WE ARE OVER THE MOON. My mom has always been an avid reader, and one of the hardest trials of being her age (89 this year) has been the loss of her visual integrity, and the diagnosis of 'wet' mac-degeneration was demoralizing. She had recently realized that she was able to better read on her Nook (sorry Amazon!), but I'd put that down to my giving her a Nook Glow...brighter screen to replace the elderly 7" original Nook she'd been using. Now I will offer the disclaimer that I'D CAN'T DEFINITELY SAY that LuteinZaxanthin OR Astaxanthin are the reason her vision has improved. It may be all the OTHER supplements I have her on ALSO have improved her general overall condition and thereby also the visual problems. But the addition of these two were the coinciding factors for the October results (no punch needed), and the results of today's exam, and the reaction of her examining doctor to her eye scans were pretty telling. I know how my vision improved upon adding supplementation to my daily nutritional regimen even 3 years ago, although I don't have mac-degen, or any signs of it either. Her doctor admitted to be amazed at the improvement in mom's eyes... In MY mind, it is the quality of the SR products offered that have given my mother this amazing gift. Please, please never relent on the quality of these supplements. I, personally, have health enhancements that I feel were found ONLY with your excellent Omega 3 Fish Oil, and the Astaxanthin, the Collagen Peptides (in my morning Bullet-Proof Coffee!) and the D-3. I just wanted to share my mom's experience, and to thank Sports Research for making it all possible (in my mind!)

This was recommended to me by my eye doctor, has both the Lutein and Zeaxanthin. Which is really all most people need. No need to spend the big money on the fancy ones in the commercials. Ask your eye doctor for their opinion.
